I am really enjoying this thread - thank you so much for participating with me!

I twirled a baton when I was 10 - 15 in State & National competition. I won over 100 trophies and 350 medals. I really enjoyed it and actually taught it through the local rec department for 8 years. Haven't twirled in many many years though.....

Me too, Char, it's really quite remarkable how diversified this bunch's lives have been, isn't it?

So, you were a parade pixie, huh? I was one of the marching band members who mocked you guys and tried to get you to miss your catches during a parade.:o:p:D:ROTFLMAO:

Forgive me, Al, but, um... why would there be a record for someone who could never make a basket?:p

The only thing I would eat as a kid was chicken tenders, LOL, especially when we went out to dinner as a family. Hard to believe that kid grew up into someone who has tried some of the strangest things, like ostrich. :D

Let me put it this way, when someone is trying to make a shot, I would block it before it could go in! make sense now? I lived and breathed basketball for many years....lol!

Okay, it is true confession time:

I burned my camp fire girl card on the playground in 6th grade in protest of Camp Fire Girl policy. I was the president at the time. The nuns were not amused!

I broke my elbow in grad school while dancing at a club. I learned from this -- "No drinking and and dancing!"

I was a majorette in my high school band.... alas, no trophies for me... :p

I even twirled a flaming baton solo once, at a night football game halftime show...

very spectacular, and to this day, I'm grateful that I didn't flub it...

it went PERFECT !!

and, I looked pretty darn CUTE in my white boots with tassels, and my blue & gold uniform... hee hee hee!

as for twirling, well, Yabbit... if the truth must be told, I sometimes twirl my cane.

throw and catch it too.

:D

now, for my confession... lol, this one is a BIGGIE, for a girl raised Catholic.

each of my three children has a different father.

and I didn't bother to marry the first two.

married the third one, the marriage lasted about FIVE minutes.

I'm good at raising kids, not so good at commitment to men, I guess.

:winky:

and I was single for the next TWENTY THREE years, until I got married last summer.
