I'm so sad, we have lots of trees in our back yard and they gave the kids LOTS of shade, well the power company had tree trimers come by and trim all the trees the were within 4 feet of the power lines. Well we lots almost ALL our shade. I just can't belive they had to cut SO much.

We lived in SE Iowa right next to the Mississippi so no strangers to flooding. Flooded basements became a way of life for us!

I saw on the news last night there are flood watches and warnings from Iowa to Louisiana!!

You folks in Tornado alley keep an emergency kit of flashlight batteries, blankets, first aid kit, battery powered or hand crank can opener, stuff for the kids to do and margarita mix!

We have been having severe thunderstorms here for a cople of hours but no tornados. So all is OK. Well we are OK. All the areas that were under water are now worse but we personally don't live near the river or big creek.

Julie I totally understand! I work for the electric company and you don't know how many times we hear that. It is nice to have the shade but it is also nice to have your power. There are requirements up here in MA that we have to trim around the lines to prevent any outages caused by broken tree limbs.

Maybe you can check with your company around Arbor Day if they plant any trees because of the removals that they do. We plant many trees in areas not near the lines to compensate for the trimming we do. Maybe your company would plant one in your yard???? Although the ones we plant are tiny and by the time it is grown enough for shade your kids will be in college

ITS A BEAUTIFUL MORNIN'

its an "all clear"day here today.....sun is shinin' bids are chirpin, flowers are abloomin,
Why you'd think it was spring or something here today..........

Our creek n the road has went down...and probably most of the lil creeks have also but the rivers...now Thats a different story.....one is due to crest tomorrow evening the other not until monday morning......

Sissy had to drive today cuz shes decorating for prom and has to stay after school....she was a little freaked out about having to drive "around" the river....she doesnt know the way very well....so I had her go to the lil grade school and follow her reg bus she rides to the high school....so he could lead her around the bad water spots......
Hope she makes it alright!!!!!

Hope everyone has a great day and that the sunshine is warming your sweet faces this day!!!!!

Glad to hear that all is well for you FFM!!! Sissy will make it fine! That is a good idea to have her follow the bus.

It is cloudy this way with the storms heading towards us. The rain should hit us sometime tonight. Yesterday on the other hand was GORGEOUS!!! It hit 70! I was thinking of all you that have had the a/c on already. I almost hit the button in my truck but decided to put the window down instead!
