Aw Beth! Maybe we could trade places today! You could come here and deal with my situation and I could come there and smooth things over for you!
Your DS will get over it. I can tell you're a great Mom, otherwise you wouldn't have ironed the gown! :D Try not to worry dearie! |

Oh Beth...what a time of it you are having. No one ever ironed my graduation gown! What a mom you are! In fact, my mom didn't even go to my graduation - my dad did, tho.
Anyway, kids can be, well, just kids and family is weird sometimes but remember that you are ok. You are just trying to do too much when you are not feeling well. You are frayed and they need to understand! So, as you already said time heals, so keep that in mind and all will be ok. You are a good person Beth...and don't forget that. Graduation and all the stress involved with it will be over soon and then you need to get some much needed REST, lady. (listen to me, she who doesn't listen to her own advice *smack me*) |

Beth
I know how it feels to have your DS not talk to you. It will get better. I have had mine yell in my face that he hates me! He will come around. You are a great mom. Glad you got the gown issue resolved! |
Awwww, Bethie!!! You're way too nice a person to have to suffer through such bad times!!!
Glad you got the gown crisis "ironed out." You're sons will come around ... you'll see. Just takes a little time. Maybe send a note of apology and tell how stressed you've been.:hug::hug: Could be worse ... you could still be in the little shack near your mailbox waiting for the "mystery package" to arrive. :D |
Twinks is right Beth. I sent out a rather harsh email to my siblings this weekend taunting them about how Jim and I are paying for everything with my mom and that she is their mom too, yada yada yada. This morning, after realizing no one answered back, I sent another apologizing for my harsh email. BUT, I let them know I still meant what I said, just that I was sorry for HOW it was said.

Beth and Sandy,
There is actual therapudic value in being direct your the kids, siblings and spouses, even if it means that there is a temporary increase in tension. You will see the healing power in just laying it all on the line and telling everyone where you stand and what you think. They will be shocked,..., and I mean REALLY SHOCKED at first. Then they will understand you and you will understand them. Beth, one of the best things that could have happened is that you did not hang up the phone. That unexplainable event may be the start of something that is VERY GOOD. Sandy, sending the second e-mail but maintaining your original position was crucial. Your relatives will come around in their views and you will all be in great shape. I know this from direct experience... -Vic |
Beth - I am so glad that the gown situation worked out. Just a small piece of advice learned through experience. If you want to get the wrinkles out via the dryer, use low or no heat. Those fabrics can "melt" a bit in the dryer too. Just like the iron.;)

Vic you are probably right about me not hanging up the phone. I keep alot of pent up anger re: my oldest son and have always wanted to say things but worried about his feelings.
It was probably a blessing in disguise. Time will tell but I think a break was needed at least for the time being. Tkrik: My Son is walking across the stage in a wrinkled gown. I ain't touchin it.LOL |
