You guys are a trip:p Yes the gown issue is resolved. The new gown is hanging on a hanger in the laundry room. Everytime I walk past it I get the heebee geebees. It's like if I look at it, it will melt right before my eyes:eek:

He graduates on Sunday, his last day of school is tomorrow and for some strange reason I just want it to hurry up!

This planning for graduation has for some reason just been awful.

I did his grad pictures myself but sent them off to be printed. (it was cheaper than using my own ink).

Anyway I was told they would be ready by 3:00 yesterday. I went to pick them up....They are not there! The store calls the driver and he says he won't be there until 4:30:eek:

It was too far to drive back home so I stayed and waited until 5:00. Still no driver. I was beyond furious!!!!

I told the manager that I would be back today by 10:00. If my photo cards were not there......Heads would roll! I then preceded to turn my walker around and limped out of the store (I'm sure he was really scared of me);)

It just seems it is one thing after another. Really looking forward to Sunday!!!!:D

Beth!!!! You just can't catch a break here! They say things happen in 3's so I think you are covered....the phone, the gown and the pics...nothing else can happen except enjoying a beautiful graduation!

Sunday is supposed to be a beautiful day! Will the graduation be outside?

I read someplace where they are making gowns that disintegrate to help the landfills, etc. You must have one of them. LOL, so watch out for the tears on Sunday! Cry in your hankie.

Yep graduation is outside!!! It is at Meadowbrook which is on the campus of Oakland County University.

I really hope my luck changes by sunday because I can only imagine sitting there with the one raincloud dangling right above me:eek::eek:

As far as the gown disentegrating. SASSY for shame on You:confused::o;)

Thats probably why I am afraid to look at the gown. It reminds me of the Wicked Witch of the west when she said "I'm Melltttinnnng!!!!!

Tkirk is right!!! Do not put it in the dryer. I don't know what they make these gowns of these days but it is not a natural fiber. I swear it is some kind of a coated plastic. The trick is to hang it on a hanger and place it in your bathroom while the shower is going so that some of the wrinkles steam out.

She is right! But, for future moms of graduates, if bad stubborn wrinkles dare to remain, use an ironing cloth between iron and gown!! Be aware of iron heat. DS ordered plASTIC/NYLON, GRADUATION TYPE MATERIAL FLAGS THAT CAME THRU MAIL WITH MANY FOLD CREASES. Made him iron following my guidance and dry kitchen dish towel and it went fine. Flags now on his wall, very nice. Tape does work for hems, been known to use it on new jeans!! But don't wash!!!!!

I bet half of you are probably thinking "No way can all this stuff happen to one person in the month of May". I am telling you I have hated the month of May for a very long time. Bad things have always happened to me in May.

UPDATE News Flash This Just IN....................................

I just got off the phone with the Photo Company. They tell me that my order was never sent to them. They never received my order for 60 photo Cards that was ordered from the store! OMG!

I am sitting here wondering what is next?????

I quit!!!!! I'm going to go bury myself someplace quiet..... Wake me up June 1st.

Beth - Oh man! Hang in there May will be over soon enough.

A true story to put a smile on your face.

When DDs were 2 and 3 we needed to move. Long story - skipping details. At the daycare center that they were at there was a doll that DD was extremely attached to. They had been at this particular daycare for over a year and this doll was DDs constant companion from the time I dropped her off to the time I picked her up. In the morning when we got there she would go and get this doll from where she had left it (bundled by her and in the "crib" she placed her in) and then go sit with the other kids for breakfast. When I came to pick her up, she wrapped the doll and placed it in the crib for the night.

Again, due to circumstances we needed to get out of that town as well as the state quickly. The daycare center was awesome and so caring and sensitive to our needs. On the last day that DDs were there, they gave this doll to DD16 as they knew how important this doll was to her and felt that it would be great for her to have on our risky journey.

Shortening story - we didn't get far. We ended up at my parents. My mom being the sweet loving grandma decided that "baby" needed a bath and put the doll in the washer and then the dryer. This was a no, no. The hair on the doll melted!!! LOL. I attached a picture of what the doll SHOULD look like.

DD16 still has the doll and we all laugh about it every time the subject is brought up. Beth, you too will end up laughing about this some day, in time. Take a deep breath. Everything will be fine.

Thank you tkrik for your wonderful story. That is great and you are right I will laugh about this one day. You are so nice. Everytime I wrote about one of my many problems you always respond with such postitive feed back I really appreciate you.

AMN lifted my spirits with a phone call today. She pulled me up by my boot straps, smaked me in the Haid and told me to get over it:D She's quite the gal.

As we talked I learned she graduated at the same place my son is graduating on Sunday. Small world huh?!

Yes May is almost over and normally I like time to stand still but I am certainly looking forward to June:rolleyes:

Only 10 more days of May, Beth!

You can make it 10 days.

I hope things are getting better for you as the big graduation day gets closer.
