I still am amazed every time I go out to a remote site and work. You can just sit there and look in every direction and there is not a single person or structure for dozens of miles in any direction. The only thing you hear are a few birds, some periodic squirrels and the breeze. It is amazing.

I seriously can't imagine! I have been editing some pictures of my father's family homestead I'm making into a calendar. One of the things I noticed are powerlines! They're in almost every picture and are tough to crop out without also taking away part of the farm, or a beautiful tree.......very frustrating! I bet it's so cool to get to see what you see!

Speaking of powerlines... you will not believe this, and don't forget that I like in southern CA: a few powerlines just got blasted south of me. We have just received an Emergency Broadcast System Warning sayin that a TORNADO has touched ground five miles south of us in Riverside! AND there is flooding. I see the gray skies and hear the thunder...but there is no wind and there is no rain!

Back later...

That's the one think I loved about the Native Plants class...out in the middle of the desert, looking for plants, no one in sight for miles and miles. And we have NO power lines! Or at least very few! Makes flying low through the desert more fun!
