Amen! I agree with whoever said that it is fine as long as someone throws it for you.

There were 3 years between my boys and while the highchair was still good, there were other things that got worn out like the stroller and car seats had changed to have latches to anchor them better.

I would have loved to have a shower for the second one even if it was just to celebrate his coming and bring some diapers.

My idea of a dream shower would be for everyone to bring a small gift card to Walmart or Target ($10 or $15) where you could buy baby supplies and a package of diapers (each invite would specify a different size, so that you wouldn't end up with all one size). Then, you could go buy what you need by combining the gift cards and you would have a head start on stocking up on diapers.

Yay....a baby shower. We actually threw a very informal party for our
third. It was for everyone, guys and gals. I made a huge italian feast(Mr.
Sox is Italian)and we had a great time. I dont remember gifts being
a huge part but technically it was Mr. Sox's first baby.

Now for number four..........I guess that was pushing it.so
we didnt have a party. But we had a huge picnic the week he came home.
I think you Have to celebrate a new baby in some way.]

May your little one be blessed.

A baby shower is a chance for all of your friends and family to help you welcome this little one into the world. Whether its a $10 wal-mart card, or a fancy new car seat/stroller/baby seat combo.

Kick back and let your friends welcome this tiny life into the world.

my mom would be throwing me one. She asked me if it was right to have one. I will be getting the big stuff, Car seat, stroller, Breast pump is the biggest thing that I need but I am hoping that I can find a good deal on it. It is all the little things I need that is going to add up quickly. I guess I will tell my mom to go ahead wiht it then and plan it for sometime in Sept.

thank you for all your help

Everyone's right about welcoming a new life into the world..Plus ~ FREE STUFF!! Are you kidding me? Of course a baby shower is appropriate. I don't know anyone, no matter what number the child, who wouldn't appreciate a little help with new baby stuff. Besides, new babies are fun (especially if you're not the one getting up 12 times a night or learning to mouth breathe while changing severely loaded diapers..But I digress)..Just don't forget about us! You'll need to post plenty of pictures when the little one arrives..
