We have COWS across the hwy from me. I do remember one time when they got out and a car struck one at night. The people weren't hurt, but there were steaks all around. ewwwwwwwwwww.... Bad joke DM!!!!
Wonder if that's where "chipped beef" comes from????

Oh, and Sue?? If the cow patties look hard; don't step on them... THEY'RE NOT!!!

When a car hits the cow, does it leave "grilled" steak?

As far as cows in the yard, around here we call that an organic lawn service. They trim the lawn and fertilize at the same time without burning any fossil fuels. Actually, my in laws run goats on their property, so we are usually busy trying to keep goats out of the yard...when they aren't busy knocking wood piles over to climb the trees after spanish moss. Lately their problem is deer...they keep coming out in the morning and spooking deer off the back porch where they are eating out of the hanging baskets. Its just been tooooooooo dry!

That, or the drive-in burger joint. Milkshake included.

Maybe we have something in common..I, too, have a certain "animal magnetism" (not necessarily in a good way)..
I went to the garage and noticed the door going out wasn't shut completely. I went to pull it shut, and thought I saw something thru the curtain (it was night)..I opened the curtain to look and almost peed my pants to see a Holstein staring back at me. Went to the kitchen and looked out the window. There was a herd of 'em sticking their heads onto the deck to grab plants to chew on, rubbing their itchy selves on tree, just generally making themselves at home..
Then there's the wild turkey on the trunk of my car, or the sheep that escaped the sales barn and ran under my dining room window..
Yep..Animals luv me.
