Unhappy Quick - Prayers Needed

Some of you know that I have really had a time with DD18. Between illnesses and depression issues related to CFS, she did not complete school this year.

After much discussion between myself, DD18, the counselor, and many family members and friends, I finally agreed to let her take the GED.

Right now she is taking the 1st and 2nd part of the writing. The GED is by far harder than getting a high school diploma. You need to know so much more than what is taught in school.

Over the next week she will be taking all parts of the GED. If you have a quick moment to spare, please say a quick prayer that she passes all of these tests.

Additionally, throw in a quick prayer that she "finds" herself.

Thank you all so much!

Boy, Trish, something tells me that this test may be a real test of her self-power. Let's hope and pray that she not only passes but discovers how harsh the world can really be without an education!

My thoughts and prayers go out to DD and your family. GED's are tough but she'll get through it.

I know how hard its been on you, but she'll find herself. Some kids just take longer than others.

Just be there to support her. She will someday thank you for it.

Thanks everyone.

It has been rough as education has always been important in my family as well as from my work experience. It took me a bit to just come to terms with it all.

She came home and feels that she did well. She thought it was fairly easy. However, English and language arts has been her strong point since middle school. Math, science, and social studies may create some problems for her. She is a little worried about the math and they gave her the website and her access code to take a practice test.

Additionally, her scores will be posted on her "account" usually within 25 minutes of taking each test with the exception of the essay portion which she did today. The vocabulary, grammar, etc portion should be posted soon. She had to go to work so she left me the information and asked me to check it and let her know what her score on this part is.

I told her I posted a thread about her taking the GED. She got a big smile on her face when I let her know you all were praying for her. That meant so, so much to her. Thank you!

Frank - Yes this is the animal saving DD. I am in hopes that having the little kitty will instill a sense of responsibility and a great awareness about life.

She doesn't want to work at a vet's office as it would tear her up. She has always loved animals - all animals. She is very good at photography and I talked to her about doing pet portraits.

Once she starts college (requirement for living in my house), she may find something that really sparks her interest as well as new friendships.
