Hello you lot, and thank you all for your good wishes and positive stories about Tysabri. I did want to clear something up so that there is no confusion about Tysabri and pregnancy for anyone else who is thinking of going on it. You must sign a waiver saying that you are using a form of birth control while on the Tysabri, and if by any chance you do become pregnant while on it, they can not assure you that there won't be any risks to the baby.

As many of you know, Michael and I have been trying (unsuccessfully, I might add) to have a child of our own. I've had several miscarriages over the last few years, and we have not been able to discover the cause(s) of our infertility. We've looked into adoption, and as many of you know it is quite difficult to adopt in this country (and now most any country) if either parent has MS.

So, by starting the course of Tysabri, I am pretty much giving up any chance that I am ever going to get pregnant. THAT is why I am a tad sad about going on the Tysabri. It's not a matter of not being able to ever get pregnant once you've been on it. My track record speaks for itself, and it's not a good one to speak of. I DO thank you for all our good wishes. I will be starting in August. We are going to be on holiday at the end of this month, and I wanted to wait until we got back before I started.

Chris

So it's kind of a good news/bad news thing, eh? I'm sorry you're going thru that feeling of loss..But who knows, maybe it will all work out for you anyway (I'll be hoping for you!)..I signed papers to look into starting Ty as well. There have been a lot of positive stories here about it, and I know I've got to try something..Here's to Ty helping both of us more than we could guess!

Wow Chris, is this something that your med center requires? I didn't have to sign anything like that. We did talk about it, but at my age and with nothing produced from age 9-49 except one miscarriage, and no insurance covering finding out WHY, I pretty much gave up that dream years ago.

I DO know that they are investigating Tysabri and pregnancy. I don't have the information at hand, but it's out there and I will get it for you if you want it.

I am at the point now, especially today, where I stand out on my lawn and shriek "COME ON MENOPAUSE!!!" monthly!!

Glad to hear you were approved, Chris. I have a feeling you will do just fine on the TY. Oh, and you may be a pretend Queen or wannabee "Thatcher", but you'll never, I say NEVAH be able to wear a Princess's tiara. (Margaret's HAID is too big)

Ka~rackin up...

I'm either getting much louder or much more scary when yelling for it.

The summer neighbors left early.
