Grin NMSS Miami Women's Retreat update

I'm back from the women's retreat !!! I slept most of the day yesterday, recovering from all of the fun.

I had a great time . I met some new people, and got a few phone numbers .

There were so many classes and presentations my head was spinning . I went to a Tai Chi class (loved it!), saw my neuro do a presentation on what's going on with the latest research (he seems very excited about Campath), went to a cooking class held by celebrity?? chef Marc Cummings, had Reiki performed on me, got a massage and a facial, ate too much, etc.

There was Karaoki, which I don't do unless I've had at least 3 gin and tonics ! No drinking was allowed because a couple of years ago a group of women got wasted and got themselves thrown out, LOL! Some people were still sneaking some alcohol of course, not me though!

The hotel was very nice, except there were only 4 elevators for 13 floors! With so many people on scooters and in wheel chairs, the wait time for an elevator was at least 5-10 minutes!

I only took 3 pictures, but I will post them as soon as I find my usb cable for my phone .

I could not believe how many women were WHINING about the tiniest things! For crying out loud the weekend cost next to nothing and they were still harping about the silliest stuff, like "I don't like chicken, why don't they offer us more choices? and The napkins don't match the table cloth"! What is wrong with people!!!!!!

The South Florida chapter will be posting pictures on their site pretty soon. You can see the ones from last years retreat now. Just click on "Events" on the left side of the screen and look for Women's Retreat.

Joelle!!!! It sounds like you had a wonderful time and I am so happy for you. It sounds like paradise to me even if the napkins didn't match the table cloth or they only served chicken.

It also sounds as if you were able to relax and you so needed that right now. What perfect timing for you.

I'm so glad you had fun! You needed the get-a-way.

If someone was cooking for me - and used a tablecloth and cloth napkins - I would have thought I'd died and gone to heaven! I'd eat chicken every night as long as I didn't have to fix it! Some people will gripe about anything....it's all they know.

I can't wait to see your pics. I wonder if any of the gals who got thrown out the year before were at this year's retreat? Sorry....but they sound like a fun group of girls and I'd pick them over the whiners any day!!

Glad you're back....it sux having to come back to the real world doesn't it!!?

LOL! Cloth napkins and free chicken....what more could you ask for?? I really wish it could've been longer, coming back to the real world sux ! I wish I knew what the 'party animals' did to get tossed out . From what I heard, they aren't allowed to attend the retreats anymore! I wonder if they were dancin' naked in the halls, LOL! I'm gonna have to do some investigatin' for sure. I'm also gonna ask my friend April at the NMSS if out of staters can attend next year. I wanna take a board buddy with me! Although almost everyone was really friendly, it was kinda cliquish (sp) because many of the ladies have been attending for years (8 or 9 years sometimes). One good or bad thing, depending on how you look at was the hotel rooms had a couple of three-way mirrors! I got a really good look at myself! Oh the horror . I'm starting back on the South Beach diet on Saturday. I'm at the point where I'm gonna have to buy new clothes, ARGH! This last relapse hs really put a crimp in my activity level.

Do you mean "liquorama" would be a no no at this?

It does sound like fun, though. I'm glad you went and had a good time.
