The goats didn't have their babies while you were gone, did they? What will that make you - a grand-baaaaah? Sorry....couldn't resist! Are ya'll in the path of this new storm what's-his-name......Gustav or something like that? I hope not. We're waiting for all of your pics!

I was tired when I typed that, it should've said our dinner table COMPANIONS consisted of... there were a dozen large round tables under the palms, in the sand, and we got lucky, our table-mates were jovial, interesting, articulate, and witty. then again, ALL the guests were, once I relaxed, lol !! but none were edible, or suitable for framing... we had potato salad, cole slaw, barbecued chicken and pork, samosas, garnaches, salbutes, beer & soda, and ended our repast with chocolate cake, sprinkled with nuts... muy delicioso !! we just got so busy setting up our little farm, and acquiring stock, and planting, and building, that we never had TIME to play tourists... but it was now-or-never, with the goat kids arriving "soon" we never actually SAW the matings, so are unsure, but by using a goat pregnancy calculator, and Duke Leto Atreides' acquisition date (04/01/08) as the "earliest possible" we arrived at 8/29/08 as the soonest. http://www.goatworld.com/articles/pr...regnancy.shtml oh, I LOVE the innernets, and all its helpful tools, don't you? Leeloo and Lilah are all moved into their new kidding house, and all is prepared, with our goat-obstetric kit, towels, flashlights, etc. in a "jump-bag" by the back door... Quote:
there's only ONE library within an hour of us, and ONE bookstore, with used books, a lotta stuff I don't read, like romance, westerns, and trashy beach novels (think Valley of the Dolls, or Sidney Sheldon-type stuff, lol!) Quote:
http://www.herebedragons.co.uk/hell/st.htm by the hammock sits David Baldacci's Total Control, and in the loo, I have Neck Deep : The Disastrous Presidency of George W. Bush, by Robert Parry. http://www.buzzflash.com/store/items/717 Quote:
naw, that's too much trouble for this gal, I'd rather be safely inland, and just VISIT the beaches and islands regularly. Quote:

there's flights from Miami, and Dallas daily. from the airport, take a land taxi to the water taxi dock, and a journey across the Caribbean, out to the cayes. or if you're feeling rich, Maya Air, or Tropic Air will zip you over in a few minutes by prop-plane. and Gustav's headed *north* of us, no fear, dear! Belize only gets hammered by a big hurricane every five or six years, and last year, we had two (Felix and Dean) so (unless the global climate change folks are right...) THIS year should be a good time to come, after November, when the cooler season arrives...
