Default Energy drinks, serious business.

So I took a taxi to my GP appointment today, and a driver who's a regular of mine (is responsible for driving me to a good 80% of my appointments, love the guy!) told me that his wife ran into their bedroom at 3 am in a panic, saying their daughter had drank a whole energy drink and was hyperventilating.

I can't believe 1. they would have these drinks in the house accessible to children 2. why anyone would even buy and drink this stuff!

She's ok now, but I'm sure that was really scary for the parents.

But, but, they're cool! And legal (for now)!

I feel the same way about those as I do about bottled water, what a gimmick! And why didn't I think of it first!?!

That is pretty irresponsible to leave them lying about for a kid to find. how old was the child, Laura?

I don't need those energy drinks, it interferes with me mainlining coffee

Not sure the age, but I would imagine young. They took her to the ER at 3 in the morning. The poor thing .

He said they definitely won't have those in the house anymore. I agree on the coffee front!

I've gotta admit to never having tried any energy drink. Just thought they were over priced when I saw them in the store.

I admit that Red Bull has cute TV commercials, but it didn't make me want to try them. I suppose that the child might have seen the parent(s) drinking it and it was a case of "monkey see, monkey do".

Yes indeed.

You know, I do think that children learn from their parent's example. I smoke, my brother does not. When I was younger (I am a first born), I remember my father smoking in the house (later in the garage), but I believe he wasn't smoking "in sight" around my brother at a young age.

I really do need to quit.
