Beth,

This is hilarious! :D

I watched Martha Stewart show the correct way to do it. I think she is nuts to spend so much time on a sheet that is going to be shut in a cabinet. LOL

I fold it anyway I can and put the best side forward so it looks good when I open the linen cabinet. LOL:D:D

That's what I do. Then I spray the livin' tar out of it with Wrinkle Release when I put it on the bed (else it looks like my crow's feet).

;)

I remember my mom used to have me and my sis fold them when we were kids.

We'd each take an end and say "Red rover red rover bring your end on over" And we'd be giggling.

Mom would yell "Stop goofing off and finish the laundry!"

Then she'd look and be all embarrassed because we WERE doing it.

I can't imagine what those sheets ended up loking like.

1) I do the everything in pillowcase thing.

2) I'm amazed those with sheet folding moms and sheet ironers aren't permenently scarred.

3) Geesh, Martha Stewart can fold a sheet and but hires someone else to do it and put on bed. Geesh. Oprah can only sleep on ironed sheets. You think she irons them?

3) With only one hand usable I can hardly fold clothes (I am wrinklely) so sheets are not now or ever were on my list.

My Mother could fold a set of sheets and make them look like they just came from the store. One talent I did NOT inherit.

My friend's DD saw her Grandmother ironing, saw the ironing board and said "What's that?".

My mom never put her board away (except for Holidays), had an ironing closet full of clothers (Dad's hankerchiefs, everyone's clothes, etc.). I still have ironing board and cover given to me 30 years ago at a shower. Did'nt

Since we are talking about sheet folding moms . . .

My mom was a nurse and was so, so picky about how sheets were folded. To her, there is only 1 way to fold a sheet. Her "theory" has more to do with putting the sheets on the bed quickly and neatly than anything else.

I never, ever mastered the fitted sheet thing and now my mom has trouble with the fitted sheets as they are now making them with elastic all around them. LOL (sorry mom :o). However, some how, probably through osmosis or telepathy or whatever, I fold the top sheet the same way! AND I am picky about how a bed is made. Of course, some of that comes from my own nurses training but most of it from my mom.

My mom about wore through her ironing board. It never went away either, except holidays. And there were hangers on the back door knob by it.

I have an iron.... somewhere. It might be blue, maybe green. I've never owner an ironing board - that way I never have to use the iron.

;)

Ho boy.... I'm somewhere in the middle of everyone. I don't iron my sheets--that's nuts. :D

I do, however, fold them properly sometimes. Sometimes I just don't care and wad them up after giving a half @ssed try to fold them. And sometimes I just put them back on the bed because I already have a nice folded sheet in the closet and don't want to use it. ;) One day I'll figure out a system and then actually stick to it.

My linen closet's pretty neat. I have stuff on shelves in baskets or boxes with lids on them. And my towels always get folded nicely.

Love the smell of sheets dried on the line, too. Mmm...... My dryer doesn't get used a lot in the summer if I can help it.

This thread's pretty dang funny!

Ah, sheets, the bane of my existence! Mine generally sit around in laundry baskets waiting to be folded, or folded in laundry baskets because I can't reach the linen shelf, until the cats sleep on them. Then they're all covered with hairs and have to be washed again, and then I start all over.........

Is there a button where I can just thank the whole thread all at once? :D
