Around here if you want real lemonade you use lemons, sugar, and plain ole water.

my daughter is a die hard dr pepper fan. (which she can't get since she moved to the east coast) you should see her face when she orders dr pepper and they say "mr pibb?". LOLOLOL

i don't drink soda's. my husband does. he won't go to taco bell since they only have pepsi products. he feels the same as you.

Mr Pibb :) LOL. It's Dr Pepper up here in New England, however, Mr Pibb is now at my local Chucky Cheese and my DH says down in NC was where it's ALL about the Mr Pibb....he loves the stuff, lol

I used to live in Maine, it was always soda, for the most part here in MA it's soda, but say a couple decades ago when I'd come visit my grandparents in MA, my grandmother would ask if I wanted Tonic :D

It's more a Cape Cod/Southern Ma dialect and term ;)

Dejibo 09-25-2008 07:14 AM

I was raised in the back woods of NC, and we grew up calling it soda pop.

Now i live in New Hampsha and its Soda.

Visit my friends in the deep south, and they call it pop.

kinda like the Hero sandwich versus hoggie, versus subway sandwich. Depends on where ya are.

Yep. It's a Coke. Sometimes at a restaurant, I order a Coke and get the quiet reply "We have Pepsi. Is that okay?" With a tone to the voice that means:

"I am really, really sorry this place has Pepsi. I prefer Coke too!"

Yeah, it's Coke ;)

Earl, I don't know why, but I usually just ask my friends if they want to go for a "drink." It's assumed that it's a "soft" drink. *shrug

I call my dad "Pop." :)

PunkDizzle 09-25-2008 08:39 AM

wow i must be in a weird part of PA.. most people i know call it soda but i still call it pop.. what my family always called it so guess it stuck.
but in reality most of my friends just call it beer now lol

Wow, these still exist?!

Childhood jealousy moment. I wanted a birthday party there, and never got one. :( My BROTHER did! I was upset!

I remember they had these plastic towers you could climb through. Disgruntled Laura fell through a circular opening of one of these, and scraped up her sides horribly! Tears flowed freely.

Now a COOL place for parties, back in the day, was "The Mad Hatter's" in Toronto (or maybe it was London, Ontario?). Least I think it was called this? I'm sure it's no longer in existence (I should look this up online), but I saw a television show about it. It was a completely Alice in Wonderland themed birthday party spot, where the kids got to throw pies at one another!! How cool is that?! My mom didn't like the idea LOL!

Soda or Coke here.

But you better stress coke because some ??? heads think
you are asking for pepsi.
