ROFL. Ok, now you're making a bit of sense.

I'm more perplexed about why making the bed is priority once the drinking has started. Is it usual for you to make the bed during drinking time? Like, I make mine when I wake up. Unless you're waking up and grabbing a beer for your breakfast, and THEN going back to make the bed.

^^ in that scenario, you may as well live in Canada.

I'm making the bed because I just washed the sheets today. As much as I love my waterproof mattress pad, I really enjoy sleeping on sheets on a bed. It makes the night-time experience so much more palatable.

Now so you don't think me a total heathen, I do make my bed when I get up. I've made it again after I've taken naps. But sometimes when I'm feeling totally reckless I leave it unmade.

Oh, and I even use pillows.

But I never bring Shrinky Dinks into a relationship. There's something about shrinkage that turns guys off. Generally, shrinkage has been known to occur more in chilly situations than in warm ones, as the Shrinky Dinks require. But you have your way with THAT part of life. I'll worry about not spilling my Guinness and making the bed.

Gamers.....
I used to play Runequest and D&D.

That's the whole point. I've crushed a few hearts along the way. Trod trod.

What company made Runequest? And if you're a D&D fan, have you considered getting sucked into the fun world of MMORPGs? I've played Dark Age of Camelot for 6.5 years now So much fun!

Do you enjoy LARPing?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RuneQuest

RuneQuest

RuneQuest was played above and below ground, which was different than D&D. But the guys I played with were really serious about both games and we played both interchangeably. Painted character figures too. Don't have any more of them, but I do have some of my die left somewhere in a box. Ran across them the last time I moved and got very nostalgic.

Funny you should ask about LARPing! I thoroughly enjoyed using a broadsword. We didn't go too far into it.

I played with this little wiry haired Jewish kid (who looked like a reject from an Afro factory and went to MIT), a dorky guy with thick glasses who went to Princeton on full scholarship), and a couple of other guys. In their spare time, they made absinthe which we put in our chocolate milk in the school cafeteria. It made the milk taste disgusting but it was fun for the rest of the day. The school really questioned our sanity--we formed a D&D club and they actually let us PLAY at school! Little did they know.

I've never been tempted by the MMORPG..... yet. But maybe some time. A friend of mine plays World of Warcraft.

My son was really into WOTMUD. He's now employed by EA and wants to get into AI there. I think that'd be a great fit for him. He was all bummed out when he called me to tell me he had a job there. The prospect of being forced to play the game all day long at work really had him down.

I didn't play MUCH D&D... a bit .. But I LOVED the game Talisman! Oh boy. Could play that for hours. Priestess in that game was 'off limits'. She was overpowered!

If you like broadsword, you'd love playing a 2 handed tank class in Dark Age in Midgard (the Viking realm). Or for even more fun, a 2 handed shadowblade (they can hide ~ invisible and sneak up on targets and 'perforate artery' for mega damage )

Absinthe in chocolate milk? HAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH. Oh man.

That's cool your son works for EA. EA owns Mythic, which made Dark Age of Camelot. That's why I'm going to Chicago in October for their 'road trip' (1 day, all the geek you can eat). I can't wait Now EA Mythic has Warhammer out (fresh meat!) and I haven't played it, but it looks similar to World of Warcraft (which I played and didn't like compared to DAOC), except there's more player versus player in Warhammer from what I know (and that's the stuff I love, but DAOC's player versus player system is just incredible).

Shadowblade, huh? That sounds like fun. I loved invisibility spells.

I'll have to ask my kid what branch he's working for. He said he would really like to get into QC next because then he'd be sitting with a developer and when the developer would make something, he'd get to test it right away. My kid's living his dream right now. I'm happy for him.

It's getting late and my Guinness is getting warm--perfect to drink it at. And I'm thinking Earl might want HIS thread back. LOL

He's going to wonder WTHeck happened to it.

Grin Favorite meat alt in a bun

You all are too funny, sure does help to get a good laugh! I've never heard of Harvey's either and love veggie burgers and whole wheat or whole grain anything BUT my favorite meat alternative in a burger is spicy black bean with my second favorite being lentil walnut patties. Oh yum, making me hungry. I wish I could make em though, I've tried and tried and I can't make a goo that stays together well enough. Guess I need to keep trying and quit going out to have them elsewhere... though eating out is fun.

I have to say, that salmon on crackers sounds yummy and the Far Side is a hoot!

Okay, back to food...I had a craving for a sandwich that I hadn't had in years...so I did have to buy the ingredients. It's a sliced green olive and velveeta cheese sandwich...mmmm. So bad for me, but so tasty. Lots of salt, which is about all I can taste nowadays.

I used to love that Olive pimento cheese, in a jar, on Hi Ho crackers.... Remember that? I think it was kraft?

I hate you guys! I was sitting here minding my own business getting caught up on all the food gossip and someone just HAD to say the G word! And now I am fighting every urge to get in my car and drive 60 miles to Richmond so I can go see my old buddy at Penny Lane pub and get me a steak and guiness pie! Of course there are two probs with this plan. 1. I cannot feel my legs which means I cannot feel my feet or the pedals to drive the 60 miles in the rain. and 2. I cannot drink and we all know that the steak and guiness pie comes with a pint as a side item. GRRRR
