Default What Do You Give Trick or Treaters?

Do you give out candy? Or pennies? I saw a commercial for little tiny cans of Play-Doh! That's a good idea!

I can remember my Mom making popcorn balls and we'd wrap them in different colored plastic wrap and give them out. Everyone loved them! And no second thoughts about eating something homemade. Now, kids have to go have their candy x-rayed to make sure some psycho hasn't tampered with it.

we have already had candy tampered with her in dfw. a local high school had a band parade and tossed out candy to the kids watching.

there was glass in tootsie rolls. http://cbs11tv.com/local/Glass.Fragm....2.848513.html

we only had a few kids last year. it was our first year here. i make up little treat bags with both candy and non food items, like pencils..erasers..

in our old house we had lots of kids. i always gave out those same bags and had special ones made up for ittly bitty kids and ones for parents. keep sthem from raiding the kids bags.

That's a great idea, Curious. I never thought of giving out pencils and things like that. Maybe I'll do that this year....since I'm trying hard not to have candy in the house.

Nothing, we don't get any as we live in a remote area!

Our street is pretty dark, and last year we bought candy but didn't have any kids show up. This year, we'll probably still buy candy but keep the porch light off.

We give candy. We have kids of all ages show up so play doh or pencils wouldn't go over well. I happen to like my yard and don't want eggs and tp decorating it. lol

We can't shut down the lights because then people think your a child molester. Yep, if you keep your lights off that's what they think. Oh and new law passed that all child molesters have to post a sign saying no trick or treaters. Ummm, I think a lot of people used to do that and now your possibly a child molester if you do.

Moral of the story. Avoid the trouble and give the little cuties candy!

We give out snack-size candy bars like Kit-Kat, Snickers, Butterfinger etc. and usually end up having to buy more on Halloween day because DH and I ate most of them.

I've actually just gone away but I have a light on a sensor and have to throw the switch to turn it off.

Makes me feel like Scrooge though.

But too, it's really EXPENSIVE anymore to buy candy even if you get the huge bags.

Halloween is one of my DH favorite holidays. He likes to go to the door and give out the candy. We usually have a wide assortment of all kinds of candy and my husband asks each child what they would like and gives them 2 - 3 pieces!!! I try to get candy that we don't like but that usually doens't work if he is with me when I buy it. We have a family here that comes with two bags, one to recieve candy in and the other is a bag usually of Tootsie rolls that they give to us!
