I did a Q-Tip one year it was really easy dress in white and wore a fluffy wig of batting. Also went as a screw (dressed in ligth gray and used black electrical tape wrapped down adn then used a metal garbage can lid as the top of the screw). Did a flapper, campbell soup can, cereal box (lucky charms), alian. Hey! I used to really like halloween!

If it weren't so cold, I'd be in the nude and scare the bejeebers out of the little Gremlins..

I'm trying to find a dress to borrow from someone, and get a silver briefcase with a '17' on it : a Deal or No Deal girl!

DH and I went to a party last Friday. Since we are both misers we weren't about to buy costumes so we went as.......a retired pimp and ho!!

He got a ratty looking jacket which was in our rag bag and pajama bottoms along with scuffs and socks one up and one down. He used a walking stick and wore an old beat up hat.

I wore a geometric print mid calf dress which is my "If I die while wearing this please take it off me before you call the paramedics outfit".

I completed my look with 5 pink sponge rollers in my hair, heavy make up, body glitter and rolled to the ankles black knee highs and sparkly slippers. I carried a hankie with quarters in it which was all I had left in my IRA in this tough economy.

We had so much fun and I think we looked cool and didn't spend a dime!!

LOL..Some great ideas! I'm writing them down for future use..
Still trying to talk my 17 yr old son into dressing up, but so far a no go. Trying to instill in him the importance of hanging on to that "inner child"..I'll get him yet. Maybe not this year, but someday. After all, he's got half his goofy mom's genes, too..

i remember one year '99 my oldest son decided he would dress up for halloween ... he was 15 ... he dressed in one of my dresses (one of my nicer ones) complete with one of my bras stuffed, nylons, and yes a slip too ... he had on a wig and i did his makeup ... he looked so good that one of the guys in his brothers class (bother was 14) actually "hit on him" ... boy was razed for days as they were all three on the same football team ...

for work and for home ... i thought about a flannel granny gown ... i have 3 handmade ones ... hair in pigtails ... house slippers ... my "bankie" and a large stuffed animal ... not sure yet

We're having a meeting on Friday--it's all day long and covers all our staff from 18 different counties, so it'll be big. We're allowed to dress up. I'm going to go as the Invisible Man.......
