HA the one time I regret not moving to Utah! (almost moved to Ogden a few years ago). I LOVE stuff liek this. Then again my favorite job was the one I didn't get paid for. I used to volunteer for the rescue squad and I loved every minute of it. Well, most minutes, there were a few really bad calls that I never did get over. But I would LOVE this exhibit.

I would most definately go; I love anatomy. I think the human body is an amazing piece of fine tuned machinery (although sometimes it needs to go into the shop for an overhaul). I think visual presentations make everything we read about come to life. I say don't miss it no matter whose fined tuned arm you have to twist!!

For anyone who is interested, I've signed donor forms to donate my brain to the Rocky Mountain MS Center for research on people with MS. www.mscenter.org I've always wanted to donate my brain to science!
Seriously, I felt comfortable about this and good about it, and maybe it will help others in the future, who knows? If you don't live in the area of the center, upon notification of your death they contact a local pathologist who takes tissue from your brain and, I believe, your spinal cord. Then, the tissue is sent to RMMSC. Once I had submitted all the paperwork, they sent me back a card with the tissue donation information on one side, and on the other side it says something like: The holder of this card has Multiple Sclerosis. Then it lists things like loss of balance, blurry vision, weakness, etc. that the person may be affected by.

I do wish I had gone to see the exhibit when it was here in Phoenix.
Twink, you may not really have to have a friend come along. You can "channel" Leonardo da Vinci. You know he would have LOVED to be invited. |

Easy answer not in a million years!!!
My mother took my niece to it when it was in phx, my niece was 10, she saw the naked man with no skin on and pointed to the testes and asked "what are those?" my mom was left speachless.

I remember being taken to U of Utah hospital while in high school with my anat and physiology class to check out cadavers. Of course the heads were covered, they were split up the middle and down the legs with pins stuck here and there (someone was taking a test, I think)
It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I didn't get sick or anything. A few years later as a mom, one of my boys was 9 years old and had gone to a summer camp. He fell down a hill and he cut his leg, so they brought him back to town for a few stitches. They had wrapped it up so I didn't get to see the wound until the doctor saw it! It was flayed open to the bone, filled with dirt and grass and weeds, and the doc said, "Wow, this is bad." It was at this point I told my son to hang in there, but I was going to the waiting room or I'd pass out! I did go in later to give him comfort, but it wasn't easy. So, maybe I'd like the show, maybe not. It would depend on if the figures looked like anyone related to me!!!
