Is anyone watching the spider weave its web on the international space station? It's fascinating. Envision this - a room full of people responsible for launching rockets, maintaining a space station, etc., sitting in a meeting watching a stupid spider on TV and pretending to report the daily status of the space station and shuttle... That's what our daily meeting has deteriorated to...
Oh, by the way, the typical circular web? Nope - not in zero gravity. I think the Russians snuck a bottle of Vodka into the station and are playing with the poor spider... I got a question - where do ya find today's birthdays on this site? Next shuttle is STS-119. Launch has been firmly set for 12 Feb 2009. STS-125, the shuttle to Hubble, is scheduled for May. The first Ares flight (next generation shuttle) takes off July 11, 2009 (it's a boring test launch). Tomorrow is Saturday (duh). Today, I'm wearing a University of Michigan sweater, jacket, hat, socks, and (since ya can't really tell if I'm kidding or not) underwear!!! Tomorrow is THE GAME! For some of us... This morning's meeting should be colorful. The Flight Director manager at Johnson went to Ohio State. He's been wearing stupid silver and red stuff all week, in contrast to my MAIZE & BLUE stuff. Fortunately, we're friends (most of the year...). I'm also getting divorced tomorrow. Again. For the 22nd time. My wife is an Ohio State graduate... Yippee! Easy day at work today. No critical or complex phases! Next EVA (spacewalk) is tomorrow. Tom |

I know you better than I know your wife so GO MAIZE AND BLUE!
Where do you find the spider weaving its web on TV (or the computer)? I'd love to see what it's doing. LOL Your meetings sound oddly like mine. Sometimes I've resorted to watching bellybutton lint accumulate. Try here, Tom:http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/calendar.php

LOL. I find it interesting that even a little thing like a spider can survive in zero gravity. Pretty cool for the science geek in me.
Well, hope you won't hold it against me, but I live in Buckeye territory. ![]() ![]()

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/index.php the whole month's calendar, listing birthdaze is here: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/calendar.php ![]() spiderweb weaving is fascinating... my favorite are the Orb Weavers, very colorful spiders, and they make HUGE intricate, almost perfectly round webs.

This wasn't a science experiment trying to solve the world's energy needs. This one was for the kids to attract their interest. The butterflys are for the kids too. Tom |

2nd thought, okay, maybe I'll still go, but somebody else needs to clean that station. Jeeeeezzzz.... ![]() Okay, really I will go if there's still vodka! (do they need me to bring ice, I wonder?) ![]() (Are there really spiders or are y'all just seeing spiders cuz the Russians shared that vodka? Hmmmmmm.....) Gotta go. Gotta figure out how to work *Vodka-drunk orb weavers* into the novel. Bonus points if they pull pranks on Russians. Double bonus points if they solve world energy crisis while Russians are passed out.
