back when husband worked and we had investmnts (long spent now) we used the same lady at Jackson Hewit. Worked well, especially helpful when we got audited.

Then we did it ourselves when our income changed. Used the Tax Slayer program (thru IRS site) and our state's e-file program. Worked really well; they even reminded me to print out hard copies for record keeping. Even when we did not have to file we did as we got "stimulated".

Now we use a H&R employee friend of mine and she does not charge me - hopefully you may know a friend of a friend wwho will do yours for cheap.

I do add that the AARP and (often) state or local tax office will also do those with a disability, eldery etc for free.

We've always did them ourselves but will probably be getting a cpa this year because we had some things that may be beyond us and turbo tax, so we could use some professional help!!
