I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for offering you thoughts and prayers for me and my family! Mom has her good and bad days, today is supposed to be her last day of chemo and radiation and then they will do another scan to see if it has done any good so I am hoping for good things there!
Today is also my final court day for the divorce so I am looking forward to that!
I also had good news the other day, my niece is expecting a baby due in Sept. so I am going to be a great aunt again and I am so excited!!!

hi all, just a quick update on the parents, my dad goes in tomorrow to have radiation seeds implanted directly into his prostate,

they told him it would take about an hour to do,

went out to see them on Sunday and my mom seems to be doing pretty good but she also seemed pretty tired,

my sister went and saw them last week and when i talked to her she was really surprised at how well she was..

..I still dont know if they have done another scan or what the next plan of action is in her case...oh well!

I am heading back to bed, not having a very good day myself!

It has been awhile since I was on this site and I just wanted to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. My dad is doing really well, he had radiation seeds implanted in his

prostate and when he went to the doctor on Tuesday they said everything was normal at this point!

My mom had to go into Omaha on Wednesday and there they found out that the cancer has spread to her liver and she has decided not to do anymore treatments....

its really hard to deal with but I respect her wishes. She also fell and broke her nose and ruined her glasses that same day...I went and saw her last night and she looked pretty

rough, 2 black eyes and her nose was all skinned up...

its just scary how feeble she looks now, its like she has given up, she isnt eating like she needs to and just doesn't have that spark in her eyes like she used to...

it is just so freaking hard to see her like this and I just dont know what to do....

Alison, I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom. It's hard to watch our parents struggle with their health. I have no words of wisdom for you or any solutions.....I watched both my parents health fail them and it's truly one of the hardest things you'll do. I'm glad to hear that your Dad is doing well, though. I'm keeping you and your family in my prayers. Take care of yourself, too. Stuff like this can stress you out before you realize it.
