I had a chance once to get a flute at an American Indian music festival that's held here in Omaha (well, actually next door in Bellevue) every year, but didnt want to spend the money at the time. I met Paul LaRoche (of Brule') at one of those music festivals. He's the only famous American Indian musician I've met so far. Actually have met him twice. Apparently after he performs at that festival, he likes to walk the trail in the forest (Fontanelle Forest in Bellevue, NE) I'm not sure that I'd have the musical ability or the lung capacity to learn to play a flute. It'd still be cool to have one someday. |

Me too! Thanks! Sometimes, you people might think these things about you are not so special. But to others, it can be really interesting. |

the native american flute is one of the most beginner friendly instrument the is and the work real well for resperatory therapy and working on developing lung capacity. ive seen both flutes that look wonderfull and didnt play well or at all and ive seen flutes that looked like hell and played fantastic. price tag and value really have very little to do with eachother |
OK, you guys are making me want to get my flute out and play. LOL I played the flute from 5th grade on through college. I would play from sheet music as taught but also would listen to bands, especially Jethro Tull, Marshall Tucker, the Zep, etc., and try to learn by ear. When I was in jr high my flute got stolen from the band room and my parents bought me a beautiful open hole flute. I still have it.
I am a high energy person, which collides often with MS. I always like to be moving and doing something. I not a good cook at all and have created more kitchen disasters than I care to mention. LOL I do love to bake though and am good at that. I am a science (mostly biology) buff. I hate to shop. |
