Default Cataract Surgery

I'm having cataract surgery on my left eye tomorrow afternoon. Surgery on my right eye is scheduled for May 5.

I can hardly wait!

This will get rid of the awful glare I've had for so long in sunshine and at night from car headlights. Also, I should be able to finally be able to see and read (for the most part) without glasses!

I don't know how the next couple of days will affect my vision, so I may not be able to read or be on the computer for awhile. Which, I guess means lots of naps and just laying around.

So, I'll be on here again when I can. Until then, I'll be missin' everyone!

Forgot to mention what they're doing. Left eye will be for far vision, right eye will be for near vision. So, if this works out like it should, I won't need (reading) glasses except for fine print or if I'm reading for an extended period of time.

Yea, Mary Ann. How exciting..

Yes, take it very easy, after surgury on eyes....You don't want a detached retina.

Let us know as soon as you are able.

I've wondered if they do that! I wear one contact lens for reading. The other eye is for driving. Works perfectly for me -- hope it does for you, as well!

Ah, yes. I think that’s called monovision. I had been evaluated for having cataract surgery and implanting a Crystalens device that restores your ability to focus your eye. I remember the doctor said my cataracts weren’t “ripe” yet. That was a few years ago. Seeing your post reminded me to make another appointment for an evaluation. Perhaps they are ripe now, and I can get a new outlook on life. Thanks for the reminder. I see him on Monday.

Will be thinking of you Maryann and happy that you are having the procedures done. You will love it. I had lasik surgery a few yrs ago and am very pleased w/the results. My Aunt had the type of cataract surgery/lens that you are having and she's tickled pink w/the results. No more glasses for her either.

Take care and check in when you can.
