Default Weekend??

Are you all doing something special this weekend, or are you just going to stay home and clean or veg, like it's any other weekend?

DD will probably open up her pool and if I had any gumption, I would go over there and jump in. It all sounds so easy...Get up, jump in the car, speed over to DD's and jump into the pool....yeah right...only in my dreams..

OK,so make me feel better, staying home, instead of the hurry scurry rushy plans, you all have..LOL..

I walked next door to a party. Stayed until the drunks got silly and walked back home. That was my weekend excitement!

We aren't planning to venture out except to Lowes on Sunday afternoon. It's raining and drunks on the road with rain...not good around here.

I hear ya Sal, I don't hurry, scurry or make plans too often. The energy spent getting ready wears me out, then I don't enjoy myself because I fight to stay awake!

Luckily I don't need entertaining .... I've always played well by myself .

Nice idea for a thread, Sally.

My Dad and his wife are visiting from Canada. Yesterday evening, we stayed home and played Taboo. They'd never played it before, and had a good time. I bought Dad a game today, and plan to wrap it and send it home with his wife, so that she can give it to him for Father's Day from me.

This afternoon, we went to visit an underground salt museum (http://www.undergroundmuseum.org/index.php"]http://www.undergroundmuseum.org/index.php
) and did some window shopping in a town that is known for its Amish history (http://www.yoderkansas.com), before going out for supper. I wasn't terribly interested in the mining aspects of the tour. I was most interested in how they use some of the mine for underground storage (http://www.undergroundvaults.com/sitemap.cfm).

Tomorrow, after church, we will just take it easy. Monday, we'll take them back to the airport. They've been here a little over a week. Came for DS's high school graduation.

We have a super busy weekend. Today we had a birthday party to go to and tomorrow is a baby shower. Monday we'll go to my parents' for a meal. That leaves us plenty of time to get things done around to house!

You'll be so proud, Sal, I begged off on a small party Friday night as I would have had to drive half an hour north at rush hour. In MI, this is the official start weekend of "going up north" and road construction season. My friends were most accommodating.

Saturday was marathon laundry day and the (late!) movers came to do some furniture moving.

Today, I have a pool party with some other friends (code for pitch the gimp in the pool, LOL), and Monday a small lunch party with some other friends. Couldn't be better for me, free food tastes best!

Not to worry Sally. I am not doing much this weekend either.

DBF and I plan on working on the kitchen this weekend. I cleaned out some of the cabinets yesterday so that we can sand and paint the cabinet boxes. He wants to do 1 side of the kitchen at a time so I took everything out of the one side yesterday. Me, I would just do it all at once. The doors and drawer fronts have all been sanded, bondoed, and ready for paint.

Last night DBF was watching some show so DD and I watched "The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas" last night. We rented it through iTunes. We kicked back in her room at DBF's and watched it on her Mac. I don't normally cry at movies but this one got to me. It was a good movie.

Not sure what today will bring but that is the fun of not having any plans.

Yaaaaaaaa for all of you....those who have plans and those who are veging, like me..

DD's College friend is visiting from Atlanta, so she is having a pool party, with their combined 7 Kids.. I don't even want to attend...LOL.

Faith, your weekend sounds nice..

Cindy, your weekend sounds too busy for me...fun, but busy...Have a blast. You're gonna miss those friends, when you move to NC, huh?

Have fun everyone..

All of the traditional "fun" activities sound kinda like work to me. We're staying OFF the roads, if possible, and any outside activities require wearing a bug suit (if you've never experienced black flies in Vermont....)

Right now I'm hanging out near the window...my daughter and a friend are part of a canoe/kayak get-together which is supposed to pass in front of our house on the Clyde River. I have no idea why it's so important to me actually to see her go by, but I hope I can.

It's even buggier in the cemeteries, so guess we'll just stay in and eat chocolate. I may play some patriotic music later.
