Since you have curly hair have you ever tried Curl Life Shampoo and Conditioner by Matrix. I absolutely love it! |

Snoopy, thanks for the recommendation! I have been on a search for the right shampoo and conditioner for years, so I'll definitely try it. Curly hair is so much fun--sarcastic tone here.
So you're a shower accessory freak too? I'm glad I'm not the only one. Right now I have two shampoos, three conditioners, three bar soaps, three shower gels, and two kinds of shaving cream in my shower, plus one conditioning hair mask. Yup, I'm definitely a freak. I like to smell different every day! |
I'm still laughin' about not having to shave as often. A few weeks ago my granddaughter (19) was here with my daughter, and we were talking girlie stuff.
I pulled up my pant leg and asked my granddaughter to guess how long since I shaved my legs. She looked carefully, and kind of stroked my shin with her fingertips, then my calf, and said, "Oh, I'd say one day?" When I told her "about eight years", her eyes got as big as dinner plates and she couldn't even speak! She kept looking back and forth from my leg to my face to see if I was kidding. Wait until she finds out about all the OTHER stuff that happens when you get old. Maybe we don't need showers as often, either. Or else we just THINK we don't because our noses don't work as well and we don't know we stink. (Think about THAT for a while.) |

I have 12 bottles of shampoo and conditioner  :o ( I actually went and counted), one facial cleanser and 3 shower gels, all in the shower. I also like to smell different every day. I shave my legs with the shower gel and I don't use bar soap. I also need lotion on a daily basis and I have 4 different scents and still collecting  |
Snoopy and April.....have you tried Philosophy products? They have great shower gels and scrubs and their hair care products are wonderful. They're expensive but you can find great deals on eBay. That's the only way I could ever afford it.....and they last forever. You only have to use a little drop and it lasts and lasts.
My shower looks like yours does.......wish I could use up one thing before I get another! |
Oh boy, Snoopy, I didn't even scratch the surface about my facial cleansers and body lotions. I have too many body lotions to count. My best friend has a discount at Bath & Body Works so I have tons of their stuff. My favorite is Japanese Cherry Blossom. ANd since I have combination skin, I use different facial cleansers all the time. Plus toners, exfoliators, moisturizers, masks, etc...
Kitty, I LOVE Philosophy's products. They are pricey, but like you said, they really do last. Their shaving cream is my favorite. Their products have the nicest smells. On my last Sephora run, I got some shaving cream made by Terax that has menthol in it. It's great, since showers, especially shaving, can heat me up for hours. The menthol feeling really lasts and keeps me cool. It isn't the best smell, but that's what all my other stuff is for! |
About 6 months ago I started having problems with the arm strength required to wash hair, condition hair, wash body and dry off. The towel felt so heavy by the time I was done with the showering that I couldn't help but start sweating and wanting to lay down. I started alternating things... one morning I will wash my hair in the sink, the next morning I pin my hair up and take a shower. That method has worked great through the winter but I'm concerned about summer, now that its here.
I think we solved that, though. My MIL recently moved to a new house and changed the bathroom light fixture to a small 6 blade, 30 inch ceiling fan. Years ago I thought a ceiling fan in the bathroom was ridiculous but this one was so cute and VERY practical for me now. So I found one at Lowe's for about $35 and it comes with a light kit too. DH installed it on Monday and I have been able to get ready in the morning without overheating and getting noodle arms. I love it! |
