Default Jon & Kate + 8 file for divorce

I dont know about the rest of you, but I am so tired of this couple. They have been splashed on every headline, are at the top of every news hour, are chased by paparazzi, and are trying to survive a very hard time, struggling to decide the fate of their marriage in public eyes.

I feel horrible for them. I hope they both find happiness, BUT I also hope this ends that silly show. I think their children are very sweet, very cute, and also over exposed. They are such show biz kids that they all know the buzz words of "next on J&k+8" yick! IMHO they have used those children to make a living. $75k per show, and 40 shows per year, not bad for a trailor park girl. I LOVED her in the early shows, and thought she was quite sweet, and endearing, but as time and money marched forward, I really lost interest.

They announced last night they they filed for divorce, and the kids will be in school full time next year. Lets hope they can allow those kids to live a life that isnt surrounded by cameras, and being "on" all the time.

They had twins, and she begged and begged for another IVF. He said then, that he wasnt ready for more kids, and just wanted to enjoy the kids he has. They did IVF and used 8 eggs! They had 6 attach, and she chose to carry all six to term. He has said from day one that he is overwhelmed, and stressed by the cameras and the paparazzi, and the way everything is a public event.

I think both need to attend some shame on you classes. She has used the media to get loads of free stuff, from tummy tucks, to breast lifts, and then the money starts pouring in, and yep, you guessed it, she wont even go talk to local moms of multiples! well, unless you pay her a HUGE speaking fee. She charges $20 for a pic of the kids WITHOUT a signature. $30 if you want it signed. SHAME! she is all about the money!

Now, pull out the eggs, and start hucking at me. I am sure many of you feel differently about them. I for one, hope they take their nonsense into the PRIVACY of their home, WITHOUT cameras, and allow those children to simply be children without performing for the cameras all the time. sheesh!

You know, when I was growing up everyone in the old neighborhood had a large family - and we didn't have our own show. It was called *being Irish Catholic*.

I just never saw the big whoop de doo about all these shows about people who have so many kids then act like they're something special cuz they struggle so to raise them.

Some people are naturals (like our Sarah ), and some people ain't.

I do wish J& K the best, but they should think this through. People split too easy, it seems, just because right now they're not blissfully happy. Things are tough - so? That's life. It's like the weather; wait a bit and it'll change.

Do they really think a different partner is going to make life perfect?

This morning I heard them to say that the kids will stay in the house they have and that the parents will come and stay there at different times. I believe she still wants to continue with the show as they need the money to support the kids.

I've never watched the show. I've only seen them splashed all over the news at different times. It sure is a mess anyway.

Ditto, ditto, ditto, and amen! What is the deal with all these obnoxious voyeurism-based shows? Obviously, someone is watching them, but please, every life has its drama— do we really need that of someone else?

I've never watched any of these and I can't imagine myself doing so. However, I'm currently in negotiations with two major networks about my own show, "Cindy Alone + Gimpitude".

It seems that everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame. even if it means making a freak show out of your family to get it.

I watched occasionally when the babies were little. Kate had dark hair, and they were so cute. I couldnt believe it when they got another season. Kate seemed to grow more..."hollywood" and started really slimming down, and did funny things to her hair, and started really barking at Jon. That is when I stopped watching. it became the Kate show. As I learned more about her, and more about some of her actions (refusing to speak to a local moms of multiple club unless they paid a huge fee) and some of her opinions, I just shook my head. Sure, its easy to raise 8 if you take a staff of 12 with you on vacation. In my day, a family of 8 was really not a huge deal. We did it that way to have more hands to help run the farm, or keep things going. No one got their own room, and no one got to be a big deal. it was just a way of life.

I Tivoed last nights show, and during the last few weeks of "whats happening" headlines, the only comment has been "guess you will have to watch the show to find out." WHAT?! So, its not about the kids, or the heartbreak, its about the ratings, and the hopes for a continued contract even though your breaking up? They have agreed that they will split, and share the house. The kids will stay in the house, and mom and dad will take turns. What happens when Jon wants to bring his g/f over for an over night? or if Kate finds someone to woo her for that fat check book? Its all happy smappy when single Jon is portrayed as miserable, but Kate is gonna blow up if he drags some honey home to meet the kids.

its just so messy. Those kids deserve better. I hope they have someone watching the interests of the kids money, so that mom and dad dont blow it all on divorce comforts. makes me ill. sheesh!

Welcome to the real world, Jon and Kate. Newsflash: It's really not all about you!!

Jon's a wuss and Kate's a you-know-what (starts with a b and ends with an itch). They chose to have their life made into a reality show. I don't feel sorry for them. I feel sorry for the kids.......they're exploited 24/7 and Kate's enjoying every minute of it. She thinks she's a star and has put herself up above everyone else.

They may have a huge house and a big bank account but you can't buy happiness and they've made that crystal clear.

Heard about it but never watched it. Not sure we could get it here anyway. From all the news about it, etc., not sure that I would ever watch it even if we could.

Hey! Are you talking about me? LOL That is exactly my family as well as many in our neighborhood. LOL

But even back then in the 60's/70's people had issues with big families. One time, IN CHURCH, a lady asked my mom why they didn't do something to stop having kids. Apparently this lady didn't listen much in catechism. LOL

Growing up in a household of 12, I can't imagine having camera crews all over the place. How insane would that be! I don't know how much they really thought things through before they started the show. No money is worth the expense of your family falling apart.

I live a few miles from them and there are papparazzi hanging out in bushes across the street from their house all the time. It's hard to get by them when driving on that road. I feel bad for the kids. They didn't ask for any of this. I just read on the Comcast homepage though that they are on a non-scheduled hiatus now. That's good, maybe the paps will lay off a bit, but I doubt it.
