One of my PPMS things, is I don't talk so well (volume and slurring), right ear not so good, but right hand is, so have to cross over holding phone in right hand to left ear (OW eventually). Big brother and I have gone through this awkwardness many times, I tell him I have to hang up, I don't do well on phone and avoid it, preferring e-mail but he keeps calling. never e-mailing. Me, being forever the little sister, don't yell at him. He just called, yeah, yeah, good concerned brother, but I'm POed. I know I look good (but he NEVER let me date his friends either. 5 year difference.)

OK, I'd never let DD go out with permission with a boy 5 years older.

Do you have caller ID? I'd just not answer his calls...and then send him an email stating you saw he called and wondered what he wanted. He'll get the message soon enough.

OK, you made me laugh (did you mean to? If not, don't tell me) but one thing with MS I notice, I change emotions quickly (officially known as emotional lability). Nap at 1:45ish.

Kitty, I'm gonna try that! Great idea. Like Pavlov's dogs the ringing bell makes me salivate, I mean pick up phone. (Not wanting to admit, age and small telephone screen mean I can't see small- print incoming number)

I know what you mean. I have to keep a pair of reading glasses by the phone if I want to see who it is. Usually I don't care and answer it anyway. If I see it's a toll free number I don't answer it.

My phone has a lady that announces the caller. So I don't even have to get off my butt to see who's calling.

Rite Aid, Walgreens, CVS and the like all have this $10 phone that has a SPEAKING caller ID. I cannot see that lil tiny box with the numbers on my phone, so this thing has been AMAZING! Life changing! I am no longer in that mad rush to try to figure out who it is, before I decide if I want to answer it. Now, I hear 555 1212 and I know who it is. A headset would solve the issue of holding the phone to your ear.
it took me a long time to realize, just because the phone is ringing, I DONT have to answer it. its hard to pass up a ringing phone, but with practice, you get used to it. Leave instructions on your outgoing voice mail, that you prefer EMAIL contact, and leave your address. I would certainly find time (when you are calm) to talk to the brother, and let him know that due to the high volume of calls coming into the home, that you are screening, and may not get to him in time, but since you are on the computer often, its faster and easier and less stressful to contact you that way. Brothers, you cant live with um, and you cant leave um duct taped to the dining room chair.
