Hi Mark, No. One Killer in women is HD. Not use to be but is now. Why, because many of the doctors do not take women's symptoms seriously.

Emzymes: If a person comes to the hospital with RECENTchest discomfort (within an hour or so) more often than not...Heart Enzymes will be normal. That is why a second set of Enzymes should be taken 4-6 hours later. If these are elevated then usually the Cath team is alerted and Heparin started or another blood clotting med. If one has waited for hours to get to a hospital after having chest pains and it is truly Heart related discomfort, the Enzymes are usually elevated on the first try alerting the doctor that this is not just the start of a possible heart attack but may be in full blown Cardiac Trouble. If the same patient waits for hours before going to the ER room and then Enzymes taken and they are normal, chances are that the second set will be normal also but this second set still needs to be taken. Normally in a patient with two normal enzyme readings and no risk factors, they are sent home after the second set of results. And with risk factors and two normal enzymes the patient may be monitored for 24 hours before being released.

I have been through this both ways. I have it memorized.

Default cardiac enzymes

Hi,

When nursing if someone had chest pain (and in Canada HD is #1 killer of women!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) we took Cardiac enzymes.....ck and trop1 every four hours x3!! That way you get a good look at what is going on. If you ever have chest pain go to ER immediatly and get 12 lead ecg and then ck and trop's......not sure if they are called the same is US......but when I went in with chest pain KILLER I thought I was dying and all was normal.....I was working at the time and my colleges sent me to the er to get checked out. I was working out and doing millitary presses.....and that was squishing brachial plexus....extra rib and all............ no heart issue thank GOD but still needs checked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ANY CHEST PAIN GO TO ER....GOT IT GUYS....DO I HAVE TO BE YA'LL'S NURSE....NOT THAT I MIND I NEED PATIENTS!!!!!!

love to all.....

victoria

ps....Mark....thanks for that.....lol......was unsure if you were calling your mind great or great for me to be back.......lol....got it not reading right.....4mg of zanaflex and all!!!!!!!!!!!!

love again,
Victoria

Thumbs up

TODAY I......must say I am feeling great, just got back from the Drs a short time ago and while there was given Tigger point injections.... each bit of pain caused by the muliple injections are surely worth it.

I would hope everyone else is doing fine and pain free !!!!
