Default Today I.....

Today I am going to start the Managing your Pain before It manages you book/program. Time to come up with some goals and pain charts!! We're in for a HUGE (30-40 degree) weather change later this week, so that'll be fun. right.

great dabbo,
keep us updated on how it is doing for you.

here are other books available in most libraries along the same line - if one doesn't help much try some others.
I think a multi pronged approach is best - TOS is very postural related so add in something that works on that too {Alexander etc}
I found some older videos at the library about somatics {Tomas Hanna{sp} }and Alexander tech- i think both were interesting and helpful to me.

Default Today I

Posture is one thing that I absolutely have to work on. I know I have bad posture, and have HAD bad posture for quite a while. I'm pretty sure that it can be traced back to my original shoulder injury 6.5yrs ago and how I compensated for/favored that left shoulder. Hope everyone is having a relatively pain-free day!!

I am also trying to work on posture...!!! It is Sooooooooo hard. I have been soooo bad for so long.

At Conster's suggestion, I am trying a posture corrector now for work when using the computer. I also have very bad posture- and have found that all my muscles that are supposed to hold me up complain when I sit "properly" for too long b/c they are so used to the old ways....

Might be something to consider.

This is the one I bought, there are many out there...

Default Today I..

thank dabbo for continuing the "today I.." thread.

Today my hands show different colours: white, blue, red, cold, hot......
I have the Raynauds-Syndrom and I think TOS and Raynaud make a competition in my arms.......How funny!!!

Me too, I wish you all a painfree day!

Default Today 2

I forgot to add, that I practice Alexander and I learned a lot about my body. I saw in the "today I" thread that you were talking about this. My intention to start with Alexander was not the posture but the body work in general. I go to a Alexander teacher and the session is about 50 minutes - I haven`t tried DVDs or groups, only individual therapy.

...leave for 8 days in Florida. The drive is going to be painful and I'm not sure what to expect - the first roadtrip after a bi-lateral pec minor release just over 1.5 yrs ago. I have my pillows and lots of water.

Staying with a friend in Tampa who turns 50 today - we can compare aches and pains over champaigne. Also making a stopover in mid-GA at BF's house. Destination: Ft. Lauderdale, and a court case against my X for legal fees. Could use extra prayers from you all on Dec 8th. I'm fighting to keep the building tension out of my neck/shoulders and I'm sure court day I'll be a wreck.

wishing you all pain-free days,
Anne

Wisshing all is well with everyone today... astern, I am in a reverse bboat me with my EX swear she has claws that reach out for miles and my hause bugged I have a court date about support with he on the 20th of this month... all I can say is she can have 3/4 % of what I make which is zero. It is not a matter of not wanting to provide it is the inability to do so! When I was working besides what the court said, all she would have to do is call and mention that the kids needed this or that and the check was in the mail... haow I miss those days
Well fingers are not working so well so sending along my best
