I hope you didn't break your toe, Jo I've known several people who have and didn't know it. One friend of mine went several days before she finally went to the dr. and sure enough, her toe was broken. Sounds like what you're doing right now is probably the best thing- keep it elevated (and your weight off of it) as much as possible.

Well I'm not new to the toe break thing - I broke my little toe and a bone near it on my left foot in 03 and about a year later I managed to thunk my right little toe and broke it.
Geez - makes me sound really clumsy or worse - brittle bones already
and each time it happened in the spring too. how odd is that!
I better start taking all my vitamins regularly again.

2003 was a bad year for me - I had the shoulder strain, then broke the toe & foot bone, then started having the RSI troubles, then had the knee bursa removed, and then had the major RSI/TOS stuff happen- then off and on work, modified work, off work and comp claim filed and then denied after the IME report.
All the stress from that stuff plus the all Motrin/Advil I had been taking caused tummy troubles too.

Default where is spring?

well today I am ...ready to give up!

I haven't posted in a while because I just can't type much or sit at computer for more then 5 minutes! It's getting really frustrating! I've been trying to use the laptop on the couch which is a little easier but I still don't last long. I've been trying to read through posts but I give up.

mark..I hear ya and I know how you're feeling. I haven't had a good nights sleep in I don' t know how long. I'm fed up! i can't get comfortable anywhere! Going places is a nightmare! I can't drive without being in major pain. I carry my advil with me everywhere but that's not even working anymore. I've been having to drive my daughter to Doctor appointments which has not been helping my flares. The drives are iver an hour long then sitting at the Hospital waiting is just peachy.

I saw the Doc Wednesday and he is now sending me to another Doctor for epidural/facet joint injections. I'm going to a pain specialist for this. The neurologist can't do anything more for me since the trigger point injections and nerve blocks aren't working. It works for a day or two then everything comes back. I've had over 6 now and got no where with them. He said I can't start therapy because they wouldn't be able to get very far with me. I'm so flared up and in too much pain.

My symptoms and pain have now spread which leads the Doctor to believe I now have RSD. I knew the left side was starting a few weeks ago but now my rib cage is sore, abdomen hurts, knees burn, and I can't walk too well at the moment. My musclces are now tight in my legs and getting up steps is almost impossible the last few days. I have trouble getting up after sitting and walking is painful. My jaw is also now popping and in pain. I'm a real mess! My right eye is also affected and I need to see the eye Doctor because it's red, painful and turning in and out. Oh, and I forgot the ear pain...!!!!!!!!!

Well the neurologist is quite concerned. He said I'm not making any progress and we should've seen quite a bit of progress by now. I'm getting worse instead of better. I just don't know what's next. I'm not too happy about the next procedure. Having injections around my spine don't sound too good. I just don't see what my options are. I want my life back but the Doctor said it's going to take a LONG time before i'm better. PEACHY! He told me I need to just relax and just take one step at a time..yea yea...easier said than done...especially when you have no income and bills to pay.

I called the Doctor's office yesterday looking to see if I could get a better pain medication since the advil isn't working. I got the nurse/receptionist and boy I got no where with that. I was told to take ibuprofen..well duh isn't ibuprofen the same as advil? I was told I'd have to make another appt to see the doctor to ask about pain meds. I've been seeing this Doctor for 3 months and he knows me quite well and knows I'm in pain but I have tomake an appt to get a better medication??????????????????? I was not a happy camper so here i am venting right along with you guys.

I would like to go for another opinion and see another Doctor but I can't. Our insurance just changed and I was told that if I see another Doctor they are going to list this injury as work related and when they submit it to the insurance company it will get denied and since the workman's comp was denied also (but in the hands of a lawyer)...in the meantime I will be responsible for the bill. I don't want to start having medical bills coming my way because the insurance company won't pay. I know if they see a work related injury they will deny the claims. so now what? Stick it out I guess but I'm just afraid one of these days I'm gonna wake up and not be able to walk.

The only good thing out of all this is...the weight loss!

Well have a great day all...and beware it's friday the 13th!

oh I so feel for both of you!

yep- IB is the same LOL that nurse/receptionist is a real wing ding!

Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) – drug class, medical uses, medication ...
Explains the medication ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, Nuprin, Medipren) a drug used for the management of mild to moderate pain, fever, and inflammation.
www.medicinenet.com/ibuprofen/article.htm - 45k - Apr 11, 2007 -

How long have you been taking IB and how much?
I was taking 4 pills and then a hour later popping 2 more so 1200mg {with food} while trying to continue working for about 3 months or maybe longer. I think it helped to cause mild IBS - just want to mention that as something to watch for.

My claim was denied too - but I was able to use pvt med card as secondary ?? and atty wrote them that we were appealing the denial so they put all bills on hold until claim was finalized.
You might ask your atty about this option. see what he says.

Since I decided to settle - a few bills were audited {paid} by WC and the rest I had to pay from my settlement money.
Some of it was paid by my pvt insurance - it was a bit confusing to me why they pd some and not others and atty didn't help at all after he got his share. Atty told me that pvt would cover all of them - possibly so i would sign and settle??
At least it is over and done now.

Today I.... am so very thankful!!!! For all the great people here at the TOS Forum, as I said several times before I consider us family regardless of how disfunctional one we may be . There is not many places one can go in life and receive the support and compassion that each and everyone here gives to one another. I have the greatest wife in the world, but unfortunately, when I try and tell her about how I am feeling the understanding is not there. I am not saying she does not feel bad for me, just that being able to have an understanding of the mechanism of the disorder is just something that unless you live it you do not know what it is like. That is why I think when one of us is having an off day and need support, we are able to open our hearts and share... so this I would like to share with all A GREAT BIG THANK YOU FOR PUTTING UP WITH ME AND MY VENTING and SHOULD THERE BE ANYTHING I CAN DO FOR YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW, I MAY NOT HAVE MUCH, BUT I DO HAVE AN EAR THAT MAY BE BENT and a pat on the back when you are feeling down.... my best to all Mark~n~Goober !!!!

TODAY I... received a disc form medtronics, Inc. describing the Morphine Pump. I have tried everything else so guess this is worth a try ! I just found out that I can make copies (DVD) of this so I can share or we could start a little group that passes them around . I really do not know how many would want to take this step in pain releif, but if you want to PM me your address, I will try and get a copy out to you! BTW any address/name that is sent to me shall remain private as others can vouche, I do not hand out numbers or addresses. I know I am actually excited about my trial on May 7th, that way I can cut down on my oral meds and the rolller-coaster of break through pain and possibly regain a life again! Tomorow is my wife and mine anniversary and years prior this was a big deal for both of us, dinner and such or a trip to the Bahamas where we were joined in matrimony and now find it difficult to even plan anything and I feel so bad for my wife for my lack of enthusiasm for fun!!!

Though think I will treat her to breakfast in bed and than maybe go up to the casino for a bit before the crowds start getting there. I have fear of crowds anymore**getting bumped** and being in more pain... what a party animal , aye ?

Well will see, who knows, may feel like doing a bit more and my certainly deserves to get out and have a good time,,,, so before I trow myself into a flare from typing to much wish all a GOOD night!

Today I... or should I say this morning thank you to Jo and Red for the well wishes, right now it is teaming rain here and temp is supposed to drop so if we get the amount of snow that has fallen as rain don't think we are trveling anywhere... though like I said thanks for the wishes, she is a great woman!

Besides the burning feeling I get in my fingers, hands, arms and neck as well as the massive headaches I get at the back of my head up and behind my ears, I have been getting twitches on the left side of my face and my left eye blurs and I see maybe two or three seperate imagaes of the same item... when I close this eye(left) and look through just the right everything goes back to normal... before I bring this up to any doctor, I was wondering if anybody has the same problem??? I am just relating these to my CRPS/RSD and posted over at the RSD board on this also!

Until later Mark~n~Goober
