Dabbo,
I'm not sure where he's in the hosp. but I would guess Memphis. He lives in Bartlett. The first time he had cancer he was up there in St.Jude's and missed almost our whole 7th grade year.

St. Jude's does a wonderful job, and is a wonderful place considering what that job is- and they NEVER turn anyone away, regardless of whether or not you have insurance.
Mark - thank you for asking about the foot.... It (I think) is better. I wore the cast for 6.5 weeks and I don't hurt unless I walk around barefoot. So ONE part of me got better without too much intervention

Hey Mark,
Storm missed us, a few miles away it was rough. I guess mercy after the tornado last December!

Just earased my caller ID from last week and saw you called....LOL, I have had laryngitis/strep and haven't been able to talk for over 11 days.
I have a meeting tomorrow and work and have to wisper, I finished the z-pac, it helped the bronchitis, but still not talking, lol Family LOVE'S IT.

I was to have a sleep apnea test today up cross pointe and had to reschedule.

Did you get a surgery date? is it the doc at Geisinger...no presonality and waited for two hours...I think on purpose.

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer type weather. Thinking of you all, Feel better.
Di

Default DiMarie

I noticed that you are having a sleep apnea test soon.

I had a 2 night sleep apnea test about 2 weeks ago, it came back positive for sleep apnea.

So, I need to get a bipap machine to help me sleep.

Sometimes I'm really afraid to go to sleep at night, with the way the asthma attack came on without any warning and now sleep apnea.

I would do anything to avoid a repeat of the respiratory failure that I had March 23. My daughter especially is fearful as I already had 1 episode where i was sleeping and she said my color was looking bad so she called my name and I didn't answer. So, she shook me and then I woke up. She burst into tears when i woke up remembering the time she had to call the paramedics when i didn't wake up.

It was after the bad color while sleeping that my internist finally agreed for me to have a sleep study.
The respiratory therapist told me to tell my doc that i needed a sleep study because when i slept my oxygen saturation levels would drop.

i told my internist but he's not going to take the word of the resp therapist and me he has to wait until i'm blue in the face and scaring the you know what out of my family.

I went to the pulmonologist that I saw in the hospital, so he is handling my respiratory situation.

He is quick to answer an e-mail too. I sent him an e-mail about the bad color and not waking up episode and he called me within 10 minutes and told me to so to the ER.

The pulmonologist said once the apnea is treated I might have less pain He said that sleep apnea causes right heart failure so that is why my ankles were getting so swollen.

I'm kinda looking forward to sleeping with the bipap as they had me spend a night with it on, testing my sleep and how i tolerated the different pressures and different masks.

Crazy scared

Like you Martha, I have fears....
My saturation I know has been poor for at least 12 years....I suspect my asthma being a problem.

THe neuro ordered the test, Every single time I have the saturation thingy on me I set it off...so much so that on the multiple occasions the got a second machine thinking it was the machine...when it happened on the second machine they turned it off!

I have been after my husband for several years to have one done as he stops breathing; gags and chokes or gulps for breath....

I hope you get your machine soon. I saw that Pamster had hers the same day the order was written.
I know how your daughter felt...bless her heart,
Di

Default It's so scary Di

Di, I'm so very sorry to bring up painful memories of your beautiful daughter, a mother's worst nightmare.

Today my son came home from Tucson for my daughter's graduation tomorrow.

I was feeling very bad respiratory wise, short of breathe, so exhausted and when I did anything at all I would just get drenched with sweat.

I was nervous, because when I blacked out in March I had no warning whatsoever.

So when I'm feeling so short of breathe I don't know how aggressive I should get or if it is a false alarm.

I got a new Adavare inhaler 250/50 and used my ventolin a couple of times and felt a little better if i just layed on the couch. But we were to go out to Claimjumper for Bryce's 22nd birthday.

I survived but it's hard to separate the two, asthma and it's respiratory distress and exhaustion and the fatigue of tos. i guess I'll just have to error on the side of safety.

The sleep study may find the reason for the extreme fatigue you feel Di. I hope if goes ok for you. I slept well because i knew someone was watching me.

Heart memories

Martha don;t think of it as bringing up bad memories of De, they are memories that give credibility to her life.If friends ignore the topic, it is more that they not intentionally, ignore her exsistance to me.

I know my family here loves me, those that knew De her too.
I just wish sometimes for a moment a taxi will pull up and she can get out for a visit.....or just walk out her door and wave as I go by.

I go down often to her home, and to the cemetary to care for her flowers.

I think of you often Martha, I often wonder do they have things figured out well, do you fear,is it medication, physical, fixed????

I want you well. Have fun at the graduation, it is so wonderful that the family will be there, Watch the P's and Q's if you do not feel well.

Hugs,
di
