Happy B-day Victoria

Barb-n-Dabbo... Personally I still have memories of -20 F snow drifts and body tied up in knots, how about a compromise of high 70's ? Barb hope your cold passes quickly

say to Mark: oh this weather! It is always wrong - too hot or too cold.....
In my office room there are 28,6°C and it it 11:15 o´clock in the morning.
In this heat my cold has no chance and I feel better now but weak.

Mark - I'd settle for 70's in a heartbeat. mid-70's and sunny year round? that would be stellar.

Yesterday I..... went to my doc (thankfully!) He told me that in the future I would be better off calling him or his partner (whoever is on call) than going to the ER. Hopefully that doesn't happen for a while. SO, we spent a while talking about what happened on thursday. Then he examined me, and focused on my shoulder/shoulder blades. My left shoulderblade doesn't like to move smoothly. In fact, not surprisingly, nothing on my left side likes to move like it should anywho, we discussed botox injections, and decided to give it a whirl. Other than the EMG needle they used to determine where the injections go, it went pretty well i think. not too sore today. We'll see by next week how they go. I hope i hope i hope that this works. about the only "not good" thing from the doc was that he really doesn't want me picking up my daughter very much - especially out of the crib or off the floor - where you have to extend your arms all the way, etc. That is tough. I gave her a big hug and kiss yesterday.

belated happy birthday Victoria!

JoKat- i hope you get some rest and that JoKitten gets better....give her a big hug.

dabbo- littlest jokitten is getting decidedly better, thanks. When she moved out of the crib (early at about 14mo) we just put her mattress right on the floor, and if she needed it, a gate on the bedroom door. It works pretty well, and now i almost never have to pick her up. The only time things are a problem is if she is feeling uncooperative. We also have a wooden high chair with a foot rest, and from about 1 year on she has been climbing up into it herself. It is amazing what they can do for themselves when you empower them. We did so much of this earlier than i would have thought she could do it because i was so unable to do it for her, and she has done great.

I hope the botox works for you...brave of you to do it with no anestesia.

Johanna

PS, southern california is the best place in the world to live when you are a tosser. i love 70 degree weather. We have a great sofa bed if anyone needs to come visit.

Johanna, I have 4 children, 17, 15, 12 and 4. I did not have TOS until my now 12 year old was 3. It was difficult with dressing and bathing but I then had surgery which helped alot. I had my youngest with no difficulty. The problem became she loved to sleep with us! She has slept in bed with my husband and I since she was 2. It was too difficult for me with the back and forth. Yesterday my husband had surgery on his shoulder so I told her she had to sleep on the floor in her sleeping bag. She loved it! I hope this does not go on for long but at least I don't have a leg, knee, or elbow in my back! Good luck and God Bless. Linda

Dabbo, my Botox took a few weeks to kick in fully than only lasted like a month and half and than the results gained were not that impressive. Does this guy do trigger point injections also, I don't remember you saying anthing about it. Just my opinion, I found the trigger points to be more effective and surely more cost effecient as these are able to be given when the pain is at its highest and take effect immediately. They are given pretty much so in the same areas as the Botox and when given by a qualified person the pain is limited to none, especillay in comparison to what you are going through. Keeping my fingers crossed 4 U !!!

Hope ALL HAVE A SAFE PAIN FREE WEEKEND !!!

Hi! Thank you to everyone for making me feel so welcome! It is so nice to be able to talk to people who understand!! I really appreciate knowing that there are others out there.

Dabbo- my shoulders do not move smoothly either. They click click click click click for every minute movement. Every doctor I had found it puzzling until I started chiropractic treatment. My chiro said that it was because of the spasming in my neck and shoulders. He said that because all of the muscles were so tight, they were pulling my shoulders down, thus my arms were not moving smoothly in the sockets. It made sense to me, so I believed him. I have learned the hard way about believing doctors, though! (like we all have, I'm sure) Maybe that is what it is?

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!
