In Remembrance
|
My sweet nephew, Riley Hall, was coming upon his 23 rd birthday.
He was living in Pomona and going to college there, and he was involved in a rock band. He was living the "hippie" life, complete with all that entails, and he had several room mates. His grandfather was Don Leslie the man who made all of the organ speakers and about 200 music patents. Riley wanted to follow in his footsteps. But on Thurs. eve. he and his friends were over drinking Yagermeister in the garage and about 4 am they all headed into bed. For some reason Riley stayed there and fell asleep. The details get fuzzy. He died of alcohol poisoning, hypothermia and asphyxiation. I don't think he or his friends knew such a death was possible. I am sure that if you have teen or younger, or older, he wouldn't mind sharing this story to save lives. I always tell everyone that AA saved lives, and I am a big supporter. I spoke before our Betty Ford Theater group and I hope this gets around to teach as many people as possible of the threat. My love to all. Remember, never judge, never expect perfection, life is a journey. |
