Default Son't make conversation with your doctors as ANYTHING can then be put in your reports

Ok, here's what I did:

I upped my Ativan and gave myself my breakthrough amount of Dilaudid.

Then, I took one dose of baby Bendadryl. (I used to love it for this, BUT, it started a restless leg, leg pain thing and my injury is basically the right side.

Funny, how we stop eating "real food", as I now drink Glucerna with milk added, and Gatorade, as well as freshened water.

On the other site I warned about the pitfalls of not staying on schedule with your regular meds - a doctor and I discussed - and I mean just discussed the importance of making a topical that works for each individual, so that you can go off or go down on your meds, and that included mixing:

pain relief - such as dilaudid pills, just a few for a large container of cold cream

a very, very small bit of steriod,

an inti-inflammatory,

things good for the skin such as Vit D and Aloe, etc.

Well, I talked to my pain mgt. doctor about it and he put it in my reporr that I was mixing drugs for a topical and the work comp then refused all of my meds!!! (We have a date for trial on this.) So not only did I not do it, but they accused me of being an opiod addict and that it is called a "Las Vegas cocktail" when you mix up heroin and coke and get high...

I was VERY upset with my doc for not listening to me, but now, it created a need for the attorney and a hearing and just to get my bare minimum meds I've had to pay cash!!!

Outrageious, don't you think??? And this was MY doctor!!!

I think many of "our" doctors (not on the list), but ones we choose, are really insurance protectors and have no regard for our pain. I really do.

Thank you for your reply, and I hope that my reply may help others, also

Default so true

i have read some doc reports where they didn't even listen to what i said. they put in words similar to what i said but with different meanings. very little would surprise me. one pt place i went to maliciously falsified my chart in favor of big insurance.

Don't you just feel like it's us against them... and we're a little nugget for them. he-hee-he we will be back...

FYI: I have heard arguments during depositions, that unless it specifically says "by mouth" or some other specific instruction, you can use your meds however you can get the most benefit from it.

I got stung by a honey bee last night while walking around my garden, right on the bottom of my foot, which caused swelling into the top of my foot and all my toes, and was going up my leg. I cut open a benadryl and made a paste out of it and put on my skin. I took some of the powder too. it worked for me. The skin is an organ too, capable of absorbing... better for your stomach.

I hope you don't have too much trouble at your hearing. With your medical records, the judge should understand and appreciate that you're trying to do the best you can under the circumstances. It would be barbaric to not provide pain relief to you.

The funny thing is,

that EXCEPT for over the counter ASPERCREME,

I have NOT used the "Las Vegas Cocktail" that the other side's attorney used in the boilerplate language of their UR. It was just "filler talk" for them to make a long document. I have never, never, never abused my meds in 8 years now, mostly because my pain has ALWAYS been higher! I am no special person, my pain is what is so high!!!

We shall have our day in court,

AND,

DO NOT FORGET THAT WE SUBPOENAED OUR THIRD PARTY PHARMACEUTICAL SUPPLIER WHICH IS SHOWING QUITE A BIT OF ILLEGAL ACTIVITY ON THE INS. CO.'S AND THE ADJUSTER'S BEHAVIOR.

I've always said, you can sit back and be a "defense, defense, defense", but unless you get a least a few "OFFENSE, OFFENSE, OFFENSE" you're not doing YOUR job, no matter how sick you are. if you can scratch it on a black board for your nurse to do for you - to make that call to the attorney, or call someone from the local church or community social worker to get some specific action going for you, they will continue to walk all over you.

Wish me luck, as I do you, and may God grant us some reprieve from these bureaucratic dumdums.

The first part of this post is actually a different post on how I handle a bad pain flare, with the RSD also. (The benadryl seems to help the RSD for one dose only, any more and then it seems to cause pain in my legs.)

But for some reason the first part attached itself to my post, and the new "talking" software I am using as well as the "macros" it seems to make itself is causing a lot of problems in producing correct posts. There are so many mixed-up posts that I don't have the pain level available to take the time to fix them, so I just want to apologize to everyone for the mixed up words and posts, and hopefully you're getting basically what I meant, so just very sorry...until I find a reason whole sentences pop up, or, disappear when I hit enter.

God bless all. Keep fighting for pain relief that works for you, doesn't cause bad blood test results, and mainly, helps improve the quality of your life. It is not addictive behavior to want to have just a part of a day without 8 to 10 level pain...or, a few hours of sleep at night...
