random question - does anyone else have noticeable(abnormal?) tightness in the underside of your forearms? I notice this from my elbow down to my wrist, especially when typing or writing.

I think tam had bad sx on the underside of her forearms at the beginning of her injury , mine was worse on the topside with sharp cramps in the back of my hands . forearms had a constant tightness, pulling, weird buzzing feelings {at the beginning of my RSI} and hypersensitive for awhile after the ulnar nerve flared.
after I saw some of the anatomy sites i found a lesser mentioned nerve that feeds the areas - musculocutaneous nerve http://mywebpages.comcast.net/wnor/l...nt&postarm.htm http://www.anatomyatlases.org/Anatom...mages/59.shtml no. 10 was my pattern { PT testing thought my thumb had a problem - but it didn't hurt or anything- they gave me a splint for it anyway{$60}.

Thank you for the info Jo and Hairdresser. This is something that has bugged me but has flared up recently. Makes typing and writing awful when they're reallllly tight. I also have some of those sharp pains in the top side of my forearm down into my hand. JIt has gotten worse the more that dang ulnar nerve flares up. Just getting fed up with this.

mine resolved as we got the muscles to release/relax in the whole upper body, {PT, DC and I}.
Are you feeling very tight all the time in the neck, chest , pecs? Since you are still working you really need to focus your breaks and off time on de stressing , relaxing, and self care along with any good PT or DC to help loosen those knots and spasms. nagging you - but with love what i did for temporary help to loosen the tight arm was a self "Indian burn" type of thing. or a friend can do it- not to pain though ![]() Just grab arm and twist and hold a bit then move down a section and repeat I did this on both arms and in both directions. a tissue release thing. but in the long run getting the upper body loosened was the better lasting help.

That is one of my more noticable signs. THe underside, from the pinkie side ip to the elboq the left side has one length of spasms, on the thmb side, from the wrist to the center of the elbow is a second strand of spasms.
I do a lot of typing, and washing dishes, and folding, moving things around, all of this incites it. Have you tried splints, or braces for your wrist? also a gel wrist support for mouse and keyboard when on the computer. I also had purchased for work dragon naturally speaking and OCR optical character recognition software. It scans any document and turns it into a word document that is editable, or data entry. When I was in college two years or so ago I had a lot of note taking, and papers to write, the spasms were so visable it looked like tendon strands or muscle strands tightly stretched. Dianne

My forearms are very tight on the topside..typing too much for me causes a burning pain in the wrist. I know they are realted bc when my PT works to loosen the forearms it generally feels better.

I was slacking too and I began to feel it
![]() For me skipping it is not an option- LOL I think most chiros have an evaluation visit?/ or first visit? usually discounted to get people in the door. It's a good time to get a feel for the knowledge level. some will have websites with good info and it may give an idea of what they lean toward & calling around is a good start - ask about any special interest or focus of the dr, and if or /what other therapies are used in combination with any adjustments. one of the chiro links in the stickys has a area search feature and the info that comes up is pretty good - it will tell what extra studies and focus of the DC and if they have a website there will be a link for it. Mine just has a small part time office and no website - i just found him by "karma" or divine intervention ![]() some are the grab and jerk your neck around type- run away fast If i ever need to find another DC - I will spend a lot of time interviewing them before they even touch my neck- LOL
