quite a few of the "old" timers here had dog walking problems - if doggies pull at all it really is best to get that stopped.
All the yanking & pulling on your arms and above just creates more tension.

A guy called "uncle matty" that does dog training has a very simple way to train dogs not to pull.

if you can get a video of his from your library it is the best way to understand how to do it by seeing him doing it in action.
I think it was called "woof"
oh he has a couple out now - here's the link to his page so you can see the name of the video - http://www.unclematty.com/store/thumbnail.asp?cid=7

My local library carried his books & vids.

What the rsi specialist said makes sense to me..
resolve the tension & symptoms first before any strengthening.

It may not fix everything, but it should help with some of the pain & symptoms.

im a very small framed person who walks big dogs so i need to learn to handle that better

wearing the brace is helping a ton even though it is really uncomfortable, my arms feel better. now the warm pain is staying in my chest/shoulders. a little bit in my triceps. also you have to be careful to push the straps off to the sides, NOT on your tos area or else obv youll feel worse.

my tv stretch

sit on floor in front of couch, hook your elbow along arm of couch, then turn torso opp. direction while pulling down on your boob with free hand.

If you can gently hook your fingertips onto the tissue of the upper chest deeper than the skin only (hard to describe it) but above the boob - you might get a better stretch/release.

When chiro did a similar stretch for the spasms in my upper chest he was behind my head and reaching over me used the heels of his hands to anchor & stretch those muscles (pec major}.
I was laying on the chiro table/bench but a friend could also do it with you on the floor and them leaning over...as long as they don't over do anything.

here's some videos with a guy using various balls and wall etc to release those areas -he has quite an assortment for all parts of the body.

well doing that stretch too much caused a flare up. gaaah! i think being hypermobile is making stretching extra challenging

i'm PRETTY sure it irritated my serratus posterior, some muscle under my shoulder blade that comes around to the side. like the lats but smaller. its really inflamed. gonna ice.

nm teres major

It's a real learning curve especially if you doing it on your own with no professional /expert PT or DC help.

Do everything slow, gentle and easy, baby steps will get you forward, there's rarely any fast miracles.

hyper mobile does throw a extra thing into the mix - you don't want to over stretch beyond the normal range - another thing to be very aware of.

still recovering from my overstretch

i believe my lats are just too loose/weak. they definitely do not feel tight, more like atrophied

today i think i held my head forward a bit much, neck swelling, also interestingly right elbow and below started swelling up which is unusual. so i'm thinking i activated some scalenes tension maybe. normally its in my chest/shoulders.
