I am sorry to repeat a post, but need help. Darvoset worked for me and now it is going to be off the market. My doctor prescribed Taramadol. I requested it thinking it would help. But I have read nothing but horror stories about it.
I am too scared to try it. Is there anything else I can ask for to replace Darvoset? Maybe I should try no medicine and live with the pain. |

I have been on tramadol for a long time. It's over rated as far as I'm concerned. I think you would be better off with something that is a muscle relaxor. Tramadol does not do a sufficient job in masking the pain, but has given me no side affects. That being said it's better than nothing. Like anything else there may be initial side effects as your body adjusts to it.
I have heard alot of positive reports from people on Valium. |

I decided not to take Tramadol. I don't know what to do yet. I think I am going to go meds free, but would like to have something if it gets unbearable.

I've been using Tramadol for 8 years. It's never given me any side effects. It worked pretty well until the last year. I now take 8 per day on my lightest pain days. The majority of the time I use tramadol in the morning and hydromorphone later in the day as my pain increases.
I understand your concern about taking any new medication. For me, though, it worked pretty well for a long time. Good luck, Kelly |

I am weaning myself off the now banned Darvoset and try to go without anything. I can't take the Tramadol after all i read. I'm tired of this injury and the apin and the meds. It is very frustrating!
I guess I should tell the pain dr. as soon as possible. Maybe she can give me something just for the unbearable days even though she just prescribed the Tramadol. I am not touching them. |

Sounds like a good plan, I hope dr agrees and has another med for you try.
So are you thinking more of a short acting med for only when you need it, and possibly a muscle relaxer also? Wouldn't hurt to ask for both. Share your concerns with dr and see where it goes..
