So I told my surgeon I was in extreme pain crying couldn't sleep screaming ect. I've had 7 surgeries before this all not that bad tonsillectomy knee scope ankle surgery appendectomy umbilical hernia pectoralis minor resection. I recently had my 1st rib resection along with scalenctomy and this pain is horrible. Norco 7.5 doesn't touch it. The other surgeries I was managed with norco 10/325 and that help so much. I ask my surgeon now if we could change and he said no thats too strong. And accused ne of being a drug addict and yelled at my parents. I was given this medicine for my wisdom teeth removal and I'm pretty sure these surgeries don't match up. Idk what to do I can't heal I need help. What should I do? He referred me to pain management but I already saw them in the hospital and they put me on xannax? What's next. Please someone

If pain management cannot help you then you could consider seeing another Dr. Your parents should ask your GP for help since the surgeon cannot or will not help you.
What the He** is wrong with these people!?! I wonder if your surgeon has ever had a broken bone? sorry - this really steams me.

Sometimes I think surgeons don't do much follow up at all, just a check to make sure all has healed after 2 weeks or such.
Do you have any regular MD, that can see you and help?

SCSoccer....Im sorry your in so much pain. IM glad you have your parents there as advocates for you. Explain it again to them just how much pain you are in and that you require help IMEDIATLY. There are many reasons your pain could be very strong, and they need to be more responsive to you. Also make an appoinment with your Primary care dr. as soon as possible to disscuss this, again, bring someone with you to the appointment. They must respond to you. I feel for you in this situation. AS far as the above response from the member above...I dont know what he is taking about, it is not addressing the problem at hand...sounds more like advise from a medical professional, not a patient. At this point in time, pain management is most important. I wish you the best possible outcome from this horrible condition, and pain free nights. Keep us up on how you are doing. |

If you see the same PM maybe it will be good to try- to build a relationship with them and they can get to know you better.. they may respond & listen better over time.
unfortunately some still have needed PM & meds -long after the surgery has healed. So give that one a try and see how it goes .
