You are correct about Dr.Griever, I found that too. Advanced Pain Management is about the epidurals, and if you have a pain pump they will fill it and monitor. BUT will not fill pain meds. I think you will like Leroy Pellicie. He advocates for his patients. Compassionate about their care, has on site testing if needed. His staff is long term. His office is AMAZING sort of fixtures. I think if you took a referral form from Emily and asked for it to be sent to Dr. P you will find it a much better situation. I know the drive well. Unfortunately my pt time work has me driving between the Scranton office, Forest City, Honesdale last Monday, and in Lock Haven on Thursday, I have to have dh drive, too much for me. I did N. Scranton the week before and anxiety issues really flared along with the hands. I have to swap the grips even though I use a boppy pillow on my lap. If you are interested in a protocol program of PT type of maintenance, Dr. Scott Fried is great about keeping what you have...in theory. he can do an exam once a year to keep Pellicie abreast, much as Dr. T would have done. That is a trip down the Turnpike to Norristown area but really worth it if you or anyone else is on W/C. It is much closer then John Hopkins where Pellicci sends complicated cases for followup and recommendations. The other one is Dr. Schwartzman, but if you have a diagx and CRPS is not a major incapacitation issue then no need for him. He is retired but does a lot of complicated studies on Ketimine, and other meds for RSD/CRPS. I don't work because I can, I need to contribute to the household. DH UC ran out, and my older son is disabled filed for SSDI years ago on his 3rd appeal. So I am maintaining two households. Let me know if there is anything I can contribute for your care. di

I did not know that Dr. Togut was retiring that soon. It was a good thing I got in to see him when i did then , which was Sept. 2010. I am definately going to look in to making an appointment with Dr. Pellici, and he takes my insurance as well. Luckily he is just across town for me. Martina |

I thought that this was who you were talking about when I read your reply. I used to see Dr. Pelicci"s ad on channel 16 awhile ago. I have had Epidurals before and never really had more that 2 months relief if that. This is great because I didn't want to return to see Dr. Griver anyway and I will call today to get a consult thanks. With all the driving your doing it sounds like you have a full time job instead of a part time. I use a pillow while I drive to plus Dr. Togut got me an abduction splint which helps too. Sorry about UC running out and that you are maintaining two households hopefully things will get better with our economy and country for that matter. About your sons SSDI all I can say is keep appealing the Government like to drag their feet when it comes to filing for benefits. Thanks again for the information, I will let you know how I made out. Hello Martina. Yes you are lucky that you got in to see Dr. Togut when you did. I have been a patient of his since 2005 and I am sorry to see him go. That makes two of us making an appointment with Dr. Pelicci. Steve......................

The abduction splint that u got from Dr. Togut, is probably the one i was prescribed by him to wear. Both arm go in it and it keeps both arms at one level, and it abducts the shoulders. I think it was was 300 or 400 dollars, I did not get mine yet. Martina |

Martina, My splint is for one arm only. The one I have supports my right arm and abducts my right shoulder and it was custom made for me by Jean at River View Orthotics & Prosthetics on S. River St. in Plains. This is where Dr. Togut sent me and I think mine was only $127.00 which I know is still alot of money but it does help. Steve...............

On positive about a sling, people don't accidentally bang and let doors fly into you. No one wears a sign that says they have TOS. Managing doors is often a real issues, who can open them with out a battle and no one appreciates getting whacked with a moving door.
When in a sling, people take note that you have a problem. There is more caution to seeing you there to hold a door, or even consideration to open the door when auto doors are not available. di

I agree! For this same reson is why I never liked the crowds at a mall, supermarket or any big gattering of people and would avoid them. Before I got my splint I used to unzip my coat halfway and tuck my arm inside of it for support. It worked ok but I would get alot of strange looks from people probably thinking I was going to pull out a gun. Steve................
