thanks jomar

(sorry for hijacking) but...

i received an emg and NOTHING showed up so i guess if i do have nerve compression its not that bad? bad as in cut off completely. i have done different tests with head turning but i feel the same aka mildly annoying ALL the time. if i hunch/look down that reproduces sx in arm pit on rt side. the swollenish feeling. pt said that i probably have some vascular stuff too, and i agree. its mild tho but i can feel it in my hands sometimes. the atrophy isnt bad in my hands/wrists are strong. but my shoulders have completely wasted...when they do those tests where my arms @ 90 degrees and he pushes in and i push out, very very little strength. his logic i guess is strength my shoulder so my neck is overcompensating and lets up.. but i have no idea if nerves work like that. it seems as tho lying in a comfortable position my hands should feel sem-normal. i cannot do nerve glides at all.

i am going to emory and trying to keep an open mind but since i dont have wc or anything like that this could add up to a ton of money. how did you all find your initial pt? just referrals? i looked on kudzu but i dont really trust that site.

My PTs were mostly rxd by my primary care drs during wc claim.
I had my main dr as my treating dr for comp.
I was also sent to a physiatrist as second opinion per my dr.
The physiatrists rehab based office/clinic had the advanced PTs .
The first PT places I was send to were based more for RSI only- hands/arms etc.

I also happened to find the one PT on my own locally doing local PT internet searches for their websites. He had a really good website with lots of info on ergonomics and RSI , TOS - so that was how I found him.

Yeah , I couldn't believe how $$ PT bills are, my chiro gave me a price break for cash & no ins paperwork to do.

If you can find a really good one in a small private office vs a big clinic with all the rules for all.
And they will do PT type therapies too, then you can ask about cash/price discounts.
Possibly small owner based PT places or even pvt massage with extended training might be something to look into.
owner based will probably better able to do the discounts than a big office/clinic setting.
