I am watching your story with interest. Thank you for posting all the useful information. It does not seem like my situation is as bad as yours, but I am well on my way. I am 29 years old, and I have Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (suspected), severe tightness in my neck muscles, scar tissue in much of my neck (according to my MT), misaligned vertebrae at C6, T1, T2, and T3 (according to an X-ray), pain down my arms and wrists, pain in my low back, and pain in my left knee.
I am still holding a job, but the physical health issues have already started to massively affect my career. I am trying to turn things around at 29 so that I do not have even worse problems at 49, but so far my progress has been minimal. I can get pretty depressed at times, but your progress reports are a bit of inspiration. Keep up the hard work. |

Thanks for sharing! I had pretty much given up on ever improving and thought it was hopeless because I had been in pain for so many years. I thought the damage was done and impossible to reverse. Like you, at 29, I had pain throughout my body. A TOS surgery and 2 lower back surgeries made me even worse and unable to work. Some days I could hardly get out of bed.
I don't know how much more I can improve but I'm still making progress and so I try to share my story and encourage people to keep fighting!

Misaligned vertebra are because of muscle spasms. What this tells me is that your cervico thoracic junction is under stress thanks to muscle spasms. So if you fix the stress, then the body will normalize. So why is that stress there? Have you had your pelvis checked? Is one leg shorter than the other? Or was it trauma to the neck causing one side to overactivate? |

I'm able to use 2 5 lb clubs at once now. It's been a long haul but I'm getting there. Here's a new video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvYnWRoDuK0

Hi Coop42
You have a very inspiring journey that you have documented here and your youtube channel. Maybe if I was in your shoes, I might have given up a long time ago so I really admire what you have done and continue to do. I have been suffering with chronic pain of the elbows, wrists and hands and a stiff neck as well as lower back for the last few years. Mostly what has been debilitating has been the elbows and hands. I guess if you were to label it, it would probably be symptoms similar to what you have TOS as well as carpal tunnel syndrome as well as elbow tendonitis (both golfers and tennis elbows). I have seen tons of people - acupuncture, massage therapists, physios, doctors, neurologists, got MRIs blah blah etc etc. Long story short, I have not been able to get much help. What brought me here is doing a search for Scott Sonnon and Intu-Flow. I am trying the beginner routine and so far so good. I definitely do not have some of the same restrictions you dealt with when you first started out. Anyway, I guess my question is that is there any sort of structure you could suggest for me when it comes to doing mobility work and becoming pain free? Thanks, |
