Default Fentanyl Patches - DURAGESIC by mylan

The more i research the more i dont want to change meds...

Doc says this one can be cut?
Im scared while making myself aware. All the literature is scary which makes ME personally scared to change opiods (Opana 4 yrs now) with the med reactions endured the last 12 years in the ER.

Dilauded, Meth and others too strong (for me) per doc. doesnt this make u crazy? just stop the pain without the adverse reactions

Encouragement, being informed; awareness, others thoughts and experiences. Getting feedback from others here in a group a good thing. good or bad i would love to hear your thoughts

Olcelyn,
Only giving you my experience after being on Narcotic medications for approx 6 years. Was put on a variety to start and they were changed every so often while I was seeing a pain management Doc then it became diffucult for me to travel the distance so I had to rely on my PCP who kept me on morphine and oxycodone for 4 years. I developed a tolerance for this medication and it stopped working it did not control the pain any more. With the increasing drug abuse and sales on the street ALL the PCP's in this area stopped RXing pain meds.... I was also on NEurotin which caused a big weigh gain ( I went on a diet) and lost weight and started walking 3 miles day I was loosing strength in my upper body but refused to use it in my lower body. Any way my PCP said I was addicted to my meds and suggested I go to rehab. I took what was left of my pain meds and flushed them and told him well never mind I was not very nice.(my bad) I never went through withdrawl even surprised me I just suffered severly for months with pain levels that were so high I prayed for death. (never went to rehab either I knew I was not addicted I never got high off them so what was I addicted too?) Found out later he never believed in the existance of TOS and has since tried to bury all of my medical records that he has from other DOCS pertaining to TOS and finding that relate to my DX.
We both know what unpleasant side effects come from taking narcotic pain meds. I am happy to say 1 year later I have built up a tolerance to the pain using biofeedback CDS, Soundscapes CDs, I LOVE OLD Christian music and am not able to get out to church so I also use these with soundscapes to help myself relax. So far this is helping me deep breathing techiques. Focusing on the positive.....trying to keep stress levels down (this one is hard) Find someone to massage those spasms for you as you can tolerate. I also changed my diet again found out that caffeine, chocolate, and high suger foods are a NO, NO for me. So are people that don't understand that you can look great but still be disabled including PCP's that don't believe that TOS exists. I don't like to be referred to as religious just simply spiritual, I read my bible as much as I can and I pray alot, I know that besides other tosers, I am NOT alone someone is beside me every day or I would not be here now, I would not have been able to make it through the last 7 years. I wish you the best in whatever you need to do.
YOU will never be alone.
