I just located the newspaper notice that our dear, long time friend Mark passed away in a car accident on Friday. I have not talked to his family.
I remember during my loss of De, how much pain Mark was in, but attended the funeral and supported our family with his love. He had such painful battles, but lived for his two loving boys. I am just so saddend having received his emails to know there will be no more. A message can be left for Cathy and the family here: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/tim...&pid=151416936 May 29, 2011 Mark B. Burgess, 47, of Shavertown, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011, in the Pinnacle Hospital, Harrisburg, Pa., due to injuries he received in a motor vehicle accident on Friday, May 27, 2011. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of David and Florence Menhennet Burgess, Exeter Township. Mark was a graduate of Seton Catholic High School, class of 1981, and received his phlebotomy certification from Luzerne County Community College. For many years Mark was employed at the Nesbitt Memorial Hospital and the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital as a phlebotomist. He was a member of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church, the Valley Masonic Lodge 499, West Pittston, and the National Rifle Association. In addition to his parents, Mark is survived by his wife of 13 years, the former Catherine J. Thomas; sons, David J. Burgess and Sean M. Burgess, both of Lake Wallenpaupack; and brothers, Russell Burgess and his companion, Rose, West Wyoming, and Dale and his wife, Janice, Harding; as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Metcalfe and Shaver Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, with the Rev. Leslie Halchak of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in the West Pittston Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening in the funeral home. Masonic Services will be held at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Chip Farms Animal Rescue 974 Lockville Road, Dallas, PA 18612

I'm really sad to hear this. I was just thinking the other day that I hadn't talked to him in a long time. He was a really nice guy.

I know Coop,
As soon as I read this I thought about you. Far too young, and the the kids. Our Tos support group always enjoyed his jokes and having Cathy attend. My prayers are with his boys, Cathy, and parents. Di

Thanks for remembering me, Di. Until recently, it's been a few years since I've posted anything so I wasn't sure if there were any people here who remember who I am. Sometimes I wonder how some of the other "Braintalk" people are doing. Time goes by so fast.

I remember you well, was glad to see you posting. I am in and out reading. So difficult to try to work to provide for the family.
THere are many new names and as many new ideas shared. Our Mark's list was the start of an ongoing directory to the doctors list thousands of hits helping so many. I am thankful for new friends and seeing the oldtimers too. Always a friend here. Thank you Mark, for your "TODAY I" thread, the "doctors list" and much information you had provided to us all. You will be so dearly missed. Love and Prayers Di
