Default What exactly is this inflamed area of my neck?

Hi everyone. I'm 27 and have had RSI symptoms in my right arm ever since college due to life long terrible posture and an obsession with computers.

Recently the symptoms have spread to the brachia plexus area on the right side of my neck. I've noticed that I seem to have some sort of inflammation there as well which has an odd sensation (almost as if it's being constricted, the brachia plexus bit feels the same except maybe more like it's being poked just above the collar bone, another symptom is both elbows feel sensitive and sometimes my sternocleidomastoid has the same strange dull sensation). I thought it was maybe a cervical rib but it feels more fibrous when I touch it. I don't have this at all on the left side and because it has an odd sensation I was hoping finding out what exactly it is would help me finally find a cure for my TOS.

Thanks, sorry it's not especially clear, let me know if you have any questions.

*edit* I've looked at cervical rib x-rays and the inflammation looks to be in that area, though it's obviously hard to see what I mean without the image. *edit*

It looks about like what others have described at times.
A swollen lump above the collarbone area.

I don't know if any have had it explained as to what exactly it is.. but I'd say probably some spasms and some lymph blockages in the area.
or do a TOS forum search for lump near collarbone or such - the posts are a few years old that it was mentioned in.
I don't think it has been mentioned recently.

you can do a web search for videos of lymph drainage massage and try some of the techniques to see if it helps at all.

Or possibly a spasmed SCM or scalene??

have you palpated the area? hot, cold etc?

Ah thanks, I searched for lymph node massage on youtube and applied the technique. There seemed to be a small squishy lump which when I manipulated like in the video seemed to 'pop' downwards. An hour later I can't feel the lump at all.

Btw, another symptom of my TOS is that if I stand and keep my arms dangling by my sides they become discoloured, below is a photo of my right arm after about 40 seconds of it dangling. It also happens in my left hand but not as much.
