Default Fentanyl Patch

Has anyone here used or are currently using the Fentanyl Patch for treatment of their pain? Was wondering how it worked them, if it worked them or if there were any side effects? I was taking Oxycontin 30mg. twice a day ,Lyrica 75mg. twice a day, Percocet 10/325 1 every four hours plus a 5% Lidoderm Patch as needed. Now I have a new Doctor and he has switched me from Oxycontin to a 25mg. Fentanyl Patch 1 every three days, 150mg. 3 times a day and a Percocet 10/325 once a day. So far the patch is working at relieving my pain. Steve...................

That's a lot of pain meds. How did you get TOS? How many years of symptoms? Any surgery?

Motorcycle accident, and it's ten years that I have been living with TOS. As far as surgeries I have had alot, mostly metal plates, screws, titanium rods and a bone graft to repair my wrist and shoulder. Steve..............

For me the patch worked very well until the VA decided to "wean me off" the patch in a misguided effort to extend my life. Apparently there is a study that says that the patch may shorten our lives by a few years. Personally I'd rather have good pain control for 5 years and die then to live 50 years in pain. Find someone well versed in pain treatments.
