Based on a recent post by boytos, I looked up DMSO products on Amazon and found one that was 70% DMSO and 30% Aloe. Reviews were very mixed with some people getting immense help and others having problem with severe skin irritation and/or no results. Since I have sensitive skin, I have to pass.

But then I also ran across Penetrex, which has some DMSO in it, and strong reviews:

I used to use straight DMSO all the time and it worked pretty well. However, after I developed a case of endocarditis and almost died I stopped using it. I don't know if DMSO had anything to do with that but I'm not taking any chances. They say it can carry impurities through your skin and into your bloodstream.

yeah i wonder about my spray on magnesium sometimes

I know of a TOSer who had a cardiac episode with the use of DMSO. Nothing serious, but enough to never use it again. Plus, she stunk while having it .

just thought i'd add my 2 cents to the discussion. i've been using penetrex on & off for about 2 years and have found it to be immensely beneficial. one thing i might clarify is that the product actually does not contain DMSO...i also had mistakenly assumed that when i started using it and i actually called the company who distributes it and was told that the ingredient in question is actually DMSO2 (with a subscript 2) which is actually the chemical name for MSM. I think if it contained DMSO I might not have tried it due to its complicated reputation. anyway, for the occasional flare up of my neuropathy i can report that it has worked better than any other OTC medication i've used in the past. my recommendation is to give it a try...hope this helps.
