Yeah, I'm not overweight either, but feel that my upper traps are too thick in proportion to the neighboring structures. I was thinking more in terms of getting them to atrophy.

Yes, I have settled into that pattern as well: physio, chiro, muscle relaxants and self care. My pain isn't as bad as many on here so I'm able to hang with it and use it as my signal to rest or change positions.

I echo your sentiment that we need something more, but doubt that anything will be done. I never hear anything about interesting TOS research other than surgeons tweaking their surgical approach.

Do you get pains in the neck muscles still?

Not in the neck itself anymore. My pains are:
-- horizontal line underneath collar bone
-- border between chest and shoulder
-- border between upper trap and neck
-- muscles on left side of thoracic spine
-- sternum where ribs connect
-- sternum in the center
on some occasions:
-- outside of upper arm
-- shoulder blade
-- ear, both inner and outer

I don't get all of these at once, but I usually get some every day.

My neck does get tight still.

All left side which is my TOS side. Something is amiss there!

Yeah my left ribs always become elevated. The PT and chiro take turns shoving them down. Feels better after they do, but it comes back in a few days.

my ribs are rotated too. my right ribcage side comes foreward more

i'm wondering if my left side is elevated due to something..not obvious, like the way i walk or hips or my right side being too weak. or maybe just my shoulder being elevated

and maybe my right ribs are rotated from being right handed and on the comp too much ugh ugh

I'm trying a modified Weight Watchers online program (self-tailored based on what I can do with TOS). Maybe that will help? I wouldn't recommend fasting b/c (from my personal experience) it can make pain worse and lead to pain-induced binging later (similar to emotional overeating). But that's just what happens to me, others are probably different.

I know that during both my pregnancies my TOS pain was significantly worse. Certainly the extra swelling and weight played into that. I believe you get something like 50% more blood during pregnancy, so it stands to reason that would affect pain levels.
