It turned out to be an amazing day and a testament to the progress I've made. Armed with my IntelliSkin V-Tee as an undershirt we hiked and toured Avalon, the high point being that I was able to participate in the Catalina Zip Line Eco Tour and survived with no ill effects as of tonight!

Just a few months ago I was at my lowest point, thinking I would never enjoy life again like I used to. I would have never believed anyone who told me I would be zip lining just two months after my last surgery!

There is one exercise called "The Archer" which I consider a row type exercise.

It gives me more confidence in knowing the proper form when doing my home exercises.

This piece of equipment is actually called Cadillac / Trapeze Table.

I used the reformer for the first time today (there are also many other pieces of equipment I have not touched yet).

I am really loving Pilates!!! Doing Pilates at a studio with the professional equipment and instructor is a huge difference than doing the home exercises (for me at least).

Frown pilates

Marc,
Are you doing it at andos or somewhere else? is it the Stott method? if you are tight or hurting do you still do it? and does it help you stretch? i am still having trouble doing the strengthening exercise, because if I am sore to begin with it makes it worse,so I am still mostly stretching.

i am looking forward to starting the pilates. ando says when I am 80% better. I am hoping that is soon-but I seem to be backsliding a bit lately. Working the last couple of weeks was tough and my neck and arm got relly sore.

I am doing it at Ando's...yes, Stott. I'm not tight or hurting anymore (just some residual numbness in my forearms). I graduated when I could do strengthening exercises without pain.

It's been a month since I've posted. I've been continuing PT, Pilates, and weekly neuromuscular massage. I've been improving day over day. I am now able to do 1-2 pullups at a time. I had not been able to do a single pullup in over 2 years. I am also swimming with no limitations. It's amazing how badly out of shape I had become.

I have been having problems with neck pain and occipital neuralgia/headaches since returning to work full time. August was a heavy travel month at work and I sure felt the repercussions. With treatment, the neck pain and reduced spinal mobility has just moved higher up and now is at the occipital junction (cranium to C-Spine). The headaches come on between 6-7 pm each day. The therapist and my neurologist believe this is all a result of the increase in activity with my return to work (along with the 3 surgeries and the 4 months off of my feet on disability) and the stress of supporting my head all day. Regardless, this is really a spinal issue and not a TOS issue (I still have a little numbness around the elbows but TOS pain free otherwise). I feel great while I am in the pool but the headache returns when I get out. I am having another round of occipital trigger point injections next week.

Once we can resolve the occipital neuralgia, I believe I can get back to living a normal life again (not having to get in the bed at 7pm)...fingers crossed.
