I just got off of Dr. Brantigan's site after researching him. I know what you mean about going out of state, I worry about the cost of where to stay (rm and board) for how long I don't know. I also worry about the flight home as the car ride home has been said to be just awfully painful.

Are you still getting Botox injections from Dr. Jordan? Can you explain to me the procedure he uses and where he injects? Thanks.

No, I had them one time and I had a bad reaction to the botox. It actually made my muscles spasm more to the point where I couldnt use my arm at all. After about 3 weeks it calmed down but didnt see any difference from before I got them. For some people it does help so for me it was worth it to try it . He uses ultrasound and EMG to target the muscles and puts it into whatever muscles are causing problems. I had it in about 6 or 7 different muscles. He cant put too much in the shoulder muscles though, you can develop "droopy shoulder" .Dr. J doesnt take insurance so you have to pay 50% up front- It costs alot- almost 4000 and my insurance only covered about 30% so depending on where you live it may not be worth it . Dr. Donohue also does it. I would be curios about your experience with Freislag as I dont know much about her-if you want to pm me too.

Thanks for the info. At Hopkins you are put into a CT scan and there is one single injection into the anterior scalene - on one side only. I have seen a tiny bit of improvement but the other side seems more aggrevated now. There is someone on the TOS group who is going to be getting plasma injections from Dr. Jordan. She has been getting botox every 6 mos for the past 7 years and it has really helped her - about 8 to 10 injections at one time.

No, not this forum. She has also had surgery from one of the well known CA surgeons - things were not removed properly and bands and adhesions are forming. Dr. J is hoping this will stop and tell the body to heal itself and help with inflammation. It does not help with nerve pain.
You did try the prolotherapy? I was looking into that. Where do they inject?

I tried neural prolotherapy which injects glucose into the muscles just under the surface of the skin. if it works the first time then you go for a series. It also is supposed to help the nerves and muscles heal themselves. You are supposed to tell right away wheter they help or not. In my case I dont think it did. We may try again in another area(she did my neck and shoulder) as the first one is covered by insurance but the subsequent ones arent.

For some reason I cannot PM you. My advice is to stay with Dr. Donahue. He is beloved on the TOS support group website.
