Default tricep stuff

has anyone else here had major nerve irritation while trying to strengthen their tricep muscle with a free weight? i tried strengthening them while lying down with my shoulders in a good position i thought? and it STILL irritated my bp somehow i believe.

i dont have elbow pain so i dont think my ulnar nerve is that bad

I had problems strengthening while lying down (triceps, middle and lower traps) which ultimately led to me stopping PT. I would get burning pain in the shoulder regions and dizzy spells when I stood up. Same burning when I did the standing, corner, chest stretch. Initially I thought I was just waking up weak, tight muscles but eventually learned it was irritated nerves. I think the dizzy spells were due to poor circulation while doing the exercises. I still get dizzy at times and have constant headaches that I believe are due to the vascular TOS.

I believe I was only using 3lb weights on triceps and no weight at all for the other exercises laying down.

Yeah I hurt myself really bad doing tjis exercise standing up before I knew I had tos I think my whole tos area swelled up

The corner stretch is awful. I can't believe physical therapist recommended that. My current pt told me to stop. She's against me stretching in general. Except levators

I don't get why though. I guess the ulnar nerve is just irritated higher up and that sets off bp

My triceps burn, but real problem is the traps. Constant tightness and trigger points. It causes bad headaches and dizziness. My neck is on fire right now.

Another problem I have with strengthening is that even the slightest muscle growth in the upper chest, traps, shoulder or neck, will increase my symptoms. I think that since I already have compression there, adding any muscle in the vicinity just makes it worse.

One thing that helps is to avoid certain exercises like wall pushups which are the worse offenders I have experienced to date.

yeah im so glad i dont have overt vasc tos. if i did id be a wreck and terrified of everything, no offense

i'm having good luck with my scapular elbow wall pushups. but i get really really really fatigued doing them. i still wonder if this is the nerve getting compressed a little bit or something but who knows
